"MAYDAY, MAYDAY!!! CAN YOU HEAR ME?! WE'RE ABOUT TO BE STRANDED ON AN ALIEN PLANET, WE NEED BACKUP TO PICK US UP! MAYDAY, CALLING FOR BACKUP!!!"

But nobody could hear her.

Not anymore.

She had thought nothing of simply shifting her shape to look like an Elf, to communicate with what she thought to be the world's dominant species. But by some terrible error, her ship's functions--all of them--suddenly stopped working when it hovered in the line of sight of that...that THING.

Nothing was working. Her communicator wouldn't signal to ANYONE, not even those falling besides her. Her wingpack has given out, leaving her in freefall. Her uniform, exercising incredible effort to protect her, was tearing in midair. Already stripping her and allowing her to feel the unbearable heat of atmospheric entry, directly on her skin. She could only resist the downward friction long enough to see the same happening to some of her teammates, taking their own downward dive into this unfamiliar world.

They all ended up scattering, falling all across the globe until she could no longer make out their shapes.

Her only consolation is the hope that if she keeps her disguise up, perhaps some of the world's pointy-eared locals can help her! Perhaps she can negotiate with them, set up diplomacy, and work with them long enough for her to help her find her teammates!

After all, if there was anything Liliel was famous for, it was not letting any obstacle or accident slow her down! It was her choice to move the ship closer to this unforeseen trap, so it will be her responsibility to pick herself and her friends back up and make things right!

All that's left to do now is just get this fall over with and get back to work.
