Description If Tipsy designed aliens...THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS.

I am an unabashed fan of strange, non-humanoid aliens. So I've been wanting to do this for a while! Have a field day with Mass Effect, and pretty much put aside the "paspermia" theory for something a little more outlandish. Just a little bit! For instance...

Turians - From planet Palaven. Here I kinda ramped up their "birdy qualities" since they are indeed descended from bird-like creatures. So to speak, they have large pectoral muscles, two sets of arms that could have been used for flight at one point, bones could have been hollow at one point, no teeth, and what appear to be vestigial feathers, now evolved into a more scale-like structure. Somehow, they look like Kaijus from Pacific Rim, but that's fine. XD

Salarians - From planet Sur'Kesh. I honestly didn't know what to do with these guys, aside from make them look more like grey aliens. Although I then figured, they evolved on a heavily forested, extremely lively jungle planet that has a HUGE amount of life, and these guys are aquatic. What they need are traits for swimming creatures. So that's what happened, which is one reason they have a lot of webbing on their bodies, and a streamlined structure. Their huge amount of arms can perhaps be put to good use, as Salarians' generally high intelligence makes them better at multitasking.

Asari -

Volus - YES....this is my idea of a Volus.

that is a neat Asari redesign , it could finally answer why many species see the Asari as similar to them, via perception filter, a krogan sees a beautiful krogan asari, a human sees a beautiful human asari (like we see now), an turian sees a beautiful turian asari, and so on, are those Asari non-corporeal and what are your Asari actually made of?.

Thank ya very much dude! ^^

From the way I think of things, I imagine the Asari USED to be physical beings that evolved naturally on Thessia. Beings who looked wildly different back then, on account of actually being organic. But perhaps, with intervention from the hyper-advanced Protheans in the form of gifts from the "goddess" Athane, the Asari had actually breached a level of sapience. Essentially ascending higher than their other neighbors.

Asari had become an entire species of uplifted synanotechnological beings (i.e. a perfect synchronization between "wetware" and inorganic nanotech) infused with an Element Zero core that holds them together. More specifically, they're a kind of dense "utility fog". A cloud of nanites that can exert force on their surrounding environment, giving them solidity just like a wholly organic being, but a fluidity and versatility in form that can't have evolved naturally.

Asari DO use a perception filter to make themselves appear like the opposite of any given species. And they DO use Mind-Melding to explore the positive physical and personality traits of a given partner, and use it to help them better randomize their offspring's traits. But they can do this with so many species because they're made of self-replicating nanites, that can use material from all around themselves to create a new Asari individual. That which starts off smaller, weaker and less intelligent than the parent, but grows up by assimilating more material (i.e. by eating and drinking), by using gained resources to continuously "upgrade" its functional parts, and learn more about the world around them, by Mind-Melding or directly downloading information into their minds from computers.

TL;DR Version: Asari are made of self-replicating bio-nanites that use Eezo cores to hold themselves together.

woo, I can see that you're really improving and even such complicated designs aren't overhelming to you....at last that's how it looks~

Drell to appear more Salarian - because everyone expects a decent Salari at the end of the working week!
The Asari can mate with any species, and are usually better off for it - why; do they eat their mates? Are they succubi..?
Should I even be asking this?
Ahem...
