Description SOOOO, got inspiration from the design from "Dragons World". I dunno what it is, a mobile game or something? Looked up Aurora Dragon, and decided to incorporate some icy stuff into the design. Albeit it's not in color.

ANYWAY...sad dragon. Woah. Came up with the idea with , so hope you like her! And hope she cheers up at some time!

EDIT: FINALLY GOT HER COLORED IN!!

-------------------------------

Name: Aurora

Homeworld: Magic Crafters

Abilities: Aurora wields the element of Ice. It had taken her such an incredibly long time to finally master this element, and its complicated facets. Even now, she's uncertain if she's worthy of wielding it.
*Blizzard Breath. Her default attack is a flare of cold, icy breath that freezes whatever it comes into contact with, allowing frozen enemies to be shattered.
*Icicle Smash. Instead of a ground pound attack, she launches a large icicle from her feet that flies downwards and shatters into pieces. This attack also boosts her up, allowing it to act as as a double jump.
*Crystal Ball. Instead of charging, she encases herself in an orb of ice surrounded by orbiting snow flakes that take out enemies surrounding it. Unlike a charge, it can remain stationary.
* Snow Wall. She can launch forward a wave of snow that pushes enemies and obstacles back. It can't kill enemies on its own, but it CAN drop them off of great heights.

Companion: Aurora has no companion. The closest she has is a flickering ball of magic that gauges her health and collects treasure for her. Except it's not sentient. It's not her friend.

Who'd want to be friends with a failure like her...?

Bio: Aurora's entire life has been...difficult.

Like some of the other dragon girls, she was born under disastrous conditions. In this case, a blizzard raging in the Magic Crafter's world that spiraled out of their control. Perhaps a weather-affecting magic spell gone wrong? We may never know. What we DO know is that Aurora's egg had narrowly avoided being thrown into the void below.

...but it landed in a lake full of ice water. She hatched out of her egg almost dead, just barely resuscitated back with the help of some healing spells. However, magic or not...it would seem as if this little accident caused her growth AND magic development to become stunted. It's remained that way for her entire life. So, when the time came to train her in the magic arts...she was very slow to learn and utilize magic.

Inexcusably slow for a Magic Crafter.

For her whole life, she had been raised and tutored by the two Elder Dragons, Friar and Meynaa. Two dragons who supported her, and ensured that she got the best lessons they could provide. And...two dragons who were always so terribly disappointed in her sheer lack of skill. Dragons that KNEW within themselves that she would never amount to anything. And it was Aurora's admiration for their skills, and her agonizing longing for their approval that drove her to keep pursuing magic, no matter what. So one day, she can live up to their standards. One day, after a particularly scathing verbal beatdown, she had finally perfected her best spells, and hoped to show Friar and Meynaa how good she'd gotten.

And then...the Gnorc Invasion happened. And Friar and Meynaa's lives were ended, by mere foot soldier Gnorcs! By simply being pushed off a cliff into some sharp rocks.

Nothing she'd ever known was quite as crushing as this. All of her hard work, now never to be validated by the most important people in her life.

Now, she fights against Gnasty Gnorc and his forces. Not only to avenge Friar and Meynaa. But also, to prove to herself that she's good for something after all.

Albeit...the journey will feel so much emptier knowing she'll never hear it from them.

Only time will tell if the new friends she meets will help her have faith in herself.

And learn how to move on.

-------------------------------------

P.S. Noticing that the dragons so far seem to have "Gameplay Mode Gimmicks"! Like what type of Gameplay they're most oriented towards. Aria is more towards stunning visuals and awesome music. Biggs is more for gratuitous combat and hack-and-slashing.

And Aurora would likely be story-mode oriented, having a complex story and character arc to follow along.

Can't wait to color this!

Wow, such dull coloring; it actually ...creates more feels in me~ Its unusual, its sweet, its simply, showing she is, one that will be heavily underestimated, but really? She's wonderful. As she is~!

Dragons World?
Nah, dude, I got something better:
How does "Avalar Rebels" sound? A group of dragons who escaped Gnasty's spell band together to take him down alongside Spyro and his friends, learning to better use their abilities in the process.

Well, I guess Beast Makers is next, and I was thinking this one could perhaps be based around stealth and tribal themes.
Voodoo priestess, anyone?

I'm down for that! Meanwhioe, you know what I was thinking for Beast Makers??

Perhaps this next dragon could be a Poison Element.

Perhaps she could be a sort of Amphibian-like dragon who can spit vile toxins, climb up walls, use her long tongue to grab items out of reach, and...perhaps even "assassinating" large bosses, creating the perfect set-up to take em out before they even know what hit em!

And she's an alchemist's apprentice, brewing up all sorts of nasty potions and toxins to fight Gnasty's goons.

OOH!! WHAT IF PERHAPS...

Cyril makes an appearance in Aurora's story? Remember Cyril??

Cyril? Yeah, I remember him.
After freeing him in the Magic Crafters boss stage (should it still be Blowhard, or someone else?), he takes her under his wing as his new protege. And BOY is he impressed with her!

TipsyRa1d3n In reply to CaptainPrower [2018-08-11 01:57:16 +0000 UTC]

Ah! And you know Friar and Meynaa, the two dragons who "trained" Aurora?

They were once pupils of Cyril's. Ones who aimed to impress HIM, by raising and training a dragon who can expertly wield magic.

Except...as she struggled to master her craft, her mentors only felt frustration, disappointment, and disdain towards her, for not being the star pupil they could show off.

Cyril isn't showing off his usual egotistical side to Aurora, because he knows how hard she worked for no reward.

And it's about time she got a better mentor anyway.

Yus.

And egotistical? I thought that was mainly Volteer's shtick.

TipsyRa1d3n In reply to CaptainPrower [2018-08-11 03:05:17 +0000 UTC]

Hmm! From what I see of their characters, Volteer is basically an intellectual, excitable, and WAY too enthusiastic. And does indeed like to indulge in some shameless self-promotion via storytelling.

While Cyril, well...he seems to be somewhat arrogant, prideful of his royal lineage, boastful of his strength, and acts with cold confidence. Albeit always willing to swallow his pride when it comes to a serious situation.

And when faced with a young dragon who's determination has carried her up, when her foolish mentors didn't.

He'll be sure she knows the power of a TRUE Master of Ice.

Thinking on it, probably gonna make her companion a bat.

Collects Alchemy ingredients to make potions, eats bugs to restore health, can help her navigate very dark areas, and can find hidden items using sonar.

You know...just kind of wondering to myself.

Why do you suppose that the Spyro games have so few female dragons?

I think I have a BIT of an idea, but wanted to hear your thoughts on it-

Well, I know that for the first game Insomniac was working on a tight budget and couldn't afford to hire a whole lot of voice talent.

Heck, sort of like how Spyro has power-up gates, this Dragon can drink power-up potions at certain points. Such as a color-changing potion to help disguise her!

Let's see...what would she have as a companion?

Maybe a mosquito? A bat? Something else??

Bloody hell, good work, dude! Very interesting design and great backstory too! Glad to see your holiday hasn't made you lose your touch, hope you're having fun!

Gonna have to come up with my own characters for this some time, and possibly figure out who to translate into Gem characters as well
