Since a lot of people have been asking me how I got the shaders to work, I made a tutorial.First and formost if you do not see Effect mapping, then you need to upgrade your mme. Go to vpvp wiki and download the latest version in the mme section.
Fianlly if you still can not get it to work, then your computer can not handel the effect )=
You can find all kind of shaders on Vpvp wik or look for links on Youtube
Do not repost this tutorial Plz.

Ok then it may be your graphics card. Sadly some effects just won't work )= like I can't use spotlight because of it.

I tried loading the adult shader, but there were weird indent-looking...things...on the face, like the skin was sunken in places. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but I don't know if it's the way I positioned the model or what.

here's how you do it
Copy all of the .dlls then past them in the same folder as the mmd exe
make sure it's lined up like this :
d3d9.dll
MikuMikuDance.exe
MMEffect.dll
MMHack.dll
And that's all

Ok you do it like this.

OK then that means you need the updated version of MME, go to vpvp wiki and download the newest one, then you'll have it

Thanks for the tutorial, though I'm having an issue of my own. I don't believe it's because my computer can't handle the graphics. The error message says "Post Effect Cannot Be Specified", and then the file of the shader. Do I need to save the shaders to a specific spot?

I don't think so, I'm not to sure what that means (I got that error once with another effect) try deleting the effect, extract it again and restart mmd. Sometimes that helps ^^
