Description
This is THE biggest animation I've done thus far. Containing 206 frames of pixel work but surprisingly because there was no background it wasn't THAT much of a pain to complete.Anyway, this is a pixel animation of an upcoming hostile mob for Minecraft. I quite like the concept of the Shulker, seems tricky as hell and such a unique mob. A mob you can stand on, a mob that's indigenous to The End, so cool.
Now for some context. If you don't quite understand what's going on in this animation here's the details. First the Shulker peaks out of his shell to see if any threats are about. Discovering that the cost is clear he pops out and bobbles up and down for a bit. He then tries to do cross eyes like he does in-game but it then falls apart (like tensing a muscle). He now thinks of a few other mobs with cross-eyes and wonders why it's such a common thing in Minecraft. Moments later a Player that is off screen attempts to catch the Shulker by surprise with a Bow and Arrow but the Shulker notices in time and hides. He peaks out to shoot his projectile at the player which successfully hits him seconds later. The Player now gets inflicted with Levitation for a bit before it wears off and he plummets to his comical death. The Shulker then shakes off the Arrow jabbed in his shell.

My guess would be making 206 accounts and faving it from all of them. Joking of course but thanks anyway!

Sweet! He does like it when the people he works with share ideas. It sort of relieves a lot of his stress.

Well primary I studied and examined the moments and reactions of realistic characters from more professional animators & movies/video games. I take many breaks in between animating all the tedious parts (such as the individual sprite frames for the arrow falling off of the Shulker here) so of course these things take time, sometimes weeks. When I do pixel art I usually have the decide between either having the sprites be small but limiting in detail or big but longer to animate as well as running the risk of crashes.
