Here's my interpretation of those mysterious 20 million years old alien fossils from Joschua Knüppe's illustration

What we can see here is that the bones are actually belong to at least 3 different creature.

- Small, worm/snake like creatures that had a hard, shell like head and built tower like structures that were actually made of similar "biomineralized opal like tissue" like their endoskeleton. The actual animal lived deep inside these small towers. Some of their small head were found at the site.

- These "Tower builders" had a much larger cousine which instead of building towers out of its body, it had a segmented, armor plated protection, so it was able to change its position while having a protection against most predators at the same time. Some of its ring shaped endoskeletal structures were found at the site.

- And the third creature was a formidable hunter at its time. Unlike most creatures it wasn't looking for food on the seabed. Instead it was able to swim above that. The almost 1m long hunter had huge, gripping limbs covered by serrated tooth like structures. Its mouth like organ was able to smash the toughest shells.

Basically the whole concept is a reversed/opposite version of the mystery around the Anomalocaris when it was discovered.
