Description
The Alpine "monster" Tatzelwurm is known to be a serpent like creature with two large arms and a cat like head which might sounds ridiculous at first. But what creature the Tatzelwurm COULD be?
Here I imagined the Tatzelwurm as some kind of Procyonidae (a Carnivora group that includs the Racoons). Procyonids are known to have very very very long tails in some cases and the ability to walk sometimes on their 2 backlimbs. In this case Tatzelwurm is totally bipedal and has pretty short arms, mostly hidden under a furry coat. Giving the illusion to the backlimbs as big grasping arms.
In the folklore it's able to do incredibly high jumpings which makes more sense with backlimbs than with arms (in my opinion).
The tail is thickly covered with fur making it much wider than what it actually is. If you see it in a blink of an eye as it jump out from the bushes or something and it's fur is mostly darker coloured, maybe you'd really think it was some kind of outlandish snake-cat with grasping arms.
Note: I know a Salamander makes more sense but I wanted to do something else

Procyonids are only known from America, so I think you should have used a European polecat or weasel instead.
