A couple weeks ago, my Biology class was cancelled so I had a few hours extra before classes that I wisely used by going to the Akron Zoo. It was a crappy day of clouds, drizzle and cool weather which meant it was perfect for me. After coming down from the back, Kamala the female Sumatran tiger stood right in front of the glass where she started munching on grass there like all kitties do to calm their stomachs. A couple minutes later, she moved to front and center in the glass and promptly threw up all the grass. Ewwwww Kamala!

Fortunately between all of this I was able to get a lot of great photos of her, with this one being my hands down favorite.

Not surprisingly, tiger stripes are all very unique both to the tiger as well as the species, with the Sumatran tigers' stripes being thinner than other tigers because they camouflage themselves in high grass.
