Description
Somehow managed to finish this while battling what I believe to be bronchitis, WHOOOO.Observe new-type Suko! This is how she would've looked if I was better at handling more complex design bits back then, especially the hair. She also gets horns similar to Royce's trueform, because that makes a LOT more sense, hrrrfff.
I also toned down the naive bits of her personality a bit. She's still considerably nicer/more concerned than Ame of course, but now she avoids being princess milquetoast.
I'm sure veterans to the story can see where this is going~

...am I seeing things or are Ame's wrists tied up? =O Also, I'm not sure how I feel about new type Suko. While the new personality tweaks are cool, I kindaΒ preferredΒ her classic design scheme. =/

I'm weird about colors, I consider with pink with a bit of lavender! ...But I also consider a lot of purples blue, and a fairΒ few purples as pinks.

(for the record, I like the page and the following may be just me making a big deal out of nothing, so if you disagree with all of what's said below, please ignore the next block of text and tell me not to do this anymore)
In all seriousness, though, if I may nitpick, it's still not quite clear (visually speaking) that Ame's locked up. I mean, perhaps this is just leftover nitpicking from classes and critiques last year, but looking between this page and the previous page, a hypothetical new reader could reasonably deduce that Ame's in a cell and her wrists in shackles, but they wouldn't necessarily see it clearly. In the previous page it's easy to not see the shackles and just think Ame's holding her hands behind her head; in this page, we can see that she's not doing that, of course, but it still doesn't seem clear that they're shackles just by looking at them. We also don't see the bars to her cell in this page at all, so while the previous page suggested that Suko was outside of her cell, this page seems to suggest that she's in the cell with her. If you don't want to make any changes on either page (not that I'd blame you, seriously), I'd suggest that on the next page we have one panel that's a bit more "zoomed out," giving us a clear view of Ame in a cell and where Suko's standing in relation to her.

Thanks! That was one of my biggest problems in the beginning, things were far too simple/generic.

I don't think anything in Heartcore was ever generic, it's pretty complex, generic stories with a female main character would have the love interest andddddd that would be the whole story, and both men and women writers are guilty of that, so I always thought Heartcore was above generic. Their designs are super unique, their story which is very mafia/crime drama/evil kingdom just with demons not real people breaking the law is good enough to be an hbo or showtime show.Β
Heartcore is a lot more like a real novel then a comic book, and that's beyond webcomics.Β
I was always impressed. You have certainly improved artistically, but again, I always thought even the earlier pages were still okay.
