First, that looks really good. The lichen/mold and rust on the wall behind Raph is a nice touch, as are the spots of blood underneath the wraps. He's obviously been at that for a long while.
Second, the hand position of his left (striking) hand is wrong. Rotate the wrist 90 degrees and you'll have a proper punch--even jabs have the hand parallel to the floor. Technically speaking, what Raph's doing is a hammerfist--something like a punch, but they're not quite the same thing.
Once again, nice piece!

hey thanks very much for the kind comment, and for paying such close attention to the pose. to tell you the truth I'm not too happy with the background, I spent quite a while on it, and it didn't get any better, so I just gave up
As for the punch, he's not really using a boxing style fist. He's using a ninjutsu style, where the wrist is turned up slightly and locked, so that the bottom 3 knuckles make a flat surface. alot of martial art styles punch like this, such as togakure ryu ninjutsu and wing chun kung fu.

For hating the background, I still think it looks good. Always remember that you're your own worst critic.
As for the punch pose...that's an interesting little tidbit of trivia. It runs counter to everything I've ever been taught about throwing a proper punch by my Tae Kwon Do and Chi Lung senseis, but if it works, I guess it works. Me, I'd be terrified of hitting wrong and winding up with a Boxer's Fracture if I ever threw that at someone.
But, of course, since the bones of Raph's hands are at least twice as thick as a human's, he doesn't have to worry about the Boxer's Fracture even if he hits wrong with that punch.
Once again, great work!
