Description
An update for the Mk-II Phaser Rifle showing some of the innards of the weapon, focusing on the CPU and Expansion system. The CPU controls power regulation, targeting acquisition, etc. Also the internal parts of the barrel can be accessed by removing the upper access panel.

Functions of the CPU can be changed by inserting different isolinear chips, and a total of 9 chips can be inserted. For example, the green chip contains a remodulation program, which automatically remodulates the weapon frequency after each shot (useful for fighting Borg). The CPU can also has 3 Expansion slots for expansion programs too big for the isolinear chips.

Jem'Hadar weapons add an anti-coagulant to their shots, likewise the Mk-II can be equipped with Expansion Packs to fire things like sedatives (for stun-resistant targets) or reprogrammed nanoprobes (for anti-Species 8472 ops).
