I started work on my comp entry for DSA and this is the character I will be using. Even though I have her allready in another file, I decided to start from scratch for the contest entry. This render is just to show the worm riders kit that will be used in the contest entry. I made the thumper from primitives and it turned out much niver than the last one I tried. The maker hooks are also primitives but the actual hooks themselves were done in photoshop. The ropes used for other Fremen to climb once the rider has taken position on the head of the worm is from a rope bondage kit that I re-scaled and rotated. I totaly made the crysknife to small so that has now been fixed for further renders.Comments and crit are welcome as always

Thanks dude! I have two different designs for Stihlsuits. This one looks a little more rough around the edges while the other (which can be seen in other renders) is a little more sleek and stealthy looking. Next I want to try and work on a more Bedouin stlye one that is closer to the books, as these ones are more inline with the design from the film which is what most people want to see instead of the book design.
If you like dune related work, you should add these groups to your watch list. They are not massively busy, but alot of the work that comes through them is really great quality! [link] [link]

Well worth a watch if you like Dune stuff. I am actualy surprised by the lack of Dune related groups on dA. It would seem that if it's not My Little Pony or Sonic, it dosen't have a place on dA. But, in the same vein, the small amount of groups that are here for Dune tend to have really good work being shared in them, except for the one guy who is writting a cross over that includes Battle Star Galactica, Star Trek, Stargate and Dune all in one universe. When I said I thought his idea was a little miss matched and didn't really make sense, I was called a cannon worshiping faggot. He also had My Little Pony work in gallery, so I felt that explained a lot considering he is aged 32.

ROFLMAO! I don't like most cross over things. Even things like Star Wars and Star Trek that are close enough to conceive a cross over always come out really bad.
But to combine all of those other things...
Especially with Dune! The other things are about space navies, for the most part. And Dune is about politics!
As for MLP... who /wouldn't/ want Sardaukar riding around on little ponies?

Seriously, I couldn't beleive it when I first saw his work. They were ship diagrams from Star Trek, with Dune logos on them, but being captained by the Adamas and traveling through star gates.

Cross overs might work in Marvel vs Capcom, but that's about it!
You should not have made that comment about the Sardukar and MLP, because I am working on a Sardukar outfit at the moment, and just a few days ago I saw an MLP model that was for use to anyone who wanted it.

I've done semi-nude self renders for a friend on a quest for more moobs and have no fear of making a fool of myself. Those kind of ideas being tossed around when I am within hearing distance are dangerous! They usualy end up becoming a reality!

Fortunately it doesn't belong to an anime, so it's less likely to be butchered. Weeaboos tend to have the urge to destroy good things.
Also, it's a comment on a Dune pic, so they probably won't find it considering that the two biggest reasons for even finding this would be an interest in old sci-fi movies (LYNCH IS KING! Have you seen Eraserhead? I love the lady in the radiator...) or literature (which is impossible for them to figure out. No pictures, no "reading.")

Thanks dude! I was really pleased with how the thumper came out on this one. There are actualy some wrapped grips on the maker hooks but you can't seem them here as they are resting just behind the back of her head. It was actualy quite fun using the prims to put this together and then creating the textures to use with them. Lots of fun all around!

I did the eues in photoshop. I selected them with the pen tool and then used a colour overlay. Nice and easy
