Description
Another fragment from my art backlog, this time from all the way back in July or so.I don't really ship Toph/Aang. I didn't really ship either of them with anybody, to be honest, until I got addicted to crack Toph/Teo a few months ago. But I sort of anti-ship them, I guess you could say; I think they'd be a glorious disaster and I almost want to see them together temporarily just to ogle the mess. (Call it similar to my fondness for dysfunctional past-tense Jet/Katara, which coexists peacefully with my generally more Zuko/Katara nature.) I've actually almost ficced them just for the chemisty and the impending train wreck. Somehow my mental image of the inevitable outcome always involves Toph throwing things and yelling...
So, yes, anyway, this was drawn after viewing one too many Toph/Aang fanarts where they are displaying tender, generic woobiness. C'mon. The best potential of the pairing for me is the clash of personalities. Toph would so court him the way she trained him: grabbing him and dragging him around, cavewoman style.
And so I sketched, in a brief moment of pique, my idea of what a first kiss for those two would be like. Hey, Twinkletoes, c'mere. We need to talk...
(There are like eighty things wrong with this sketch, but I like the motion and energy of it, so it's going in scraps. Hopefully a few people will stumble over it and enjoy it.)

I got a question. In the last scene does Aang 'attack' Toph or is the other way around? Other than that little sonfusion on my part I LOVE IT!

That would be Toph attacking Aang. And thanks!

Just stumbled upon this, and between the description and the sketch it make me chuckle aloud. ^_^
(I don't ship, but every time anyone mentions Aang and Toph together all I can think of are the fireworks that would invariably ensue!)

Thanks very much! (Would it be too random to say that I could really go for one of your name right now? Preferably with a tall chai latte...)

A bizmarck! Well, a bismark, anyway (they're a sort of delicious cream-filled donut where I come from).

That does sound delicious! ^^ Itβs a pity Iβm not that sweet.
Are any other ex German chancellors savouries as well, Iβm thinking that a Konrad Adenauer cup-cake may work

Perhaps you should consider founding a bakery along that theme! "Bizmarck's Bismarks Etc."?

Hmmmm... A German bakery in Japan... not sure how black forest cake and marzipan pretzels would go down in Japan Particularly given the lack of exposure to good bread... oh well... something to consider

Honestly, the Japanese LOVE sweets. The more exotic the better, as long as they're highly processed and beautifully presented.

Too adorable for words. Ohmigod. Their expressions and your way of drawing them is great enough, but... the ending is adorable. >w< Taang shipper or not, you have a talent for making it believable.

Thank you! I like playing around with expressions and scenarios, but most of what I scribble never gets "finished" enough to post. This one startled me with how it turned out, though, so into the scraps it got to go.
The ending's my favorite part, too. Toph kinda took over whilst I was drawing this. Poor, lucky Aang.

I loved the way you put it, "Toph would so court him the way she trained him: grabbing him and dragging him around, cavewoman style."
I could not have possibly have put it in a better way no matter how hard i tried.

Aang's flailing hand is pretty much my favorite part of the sketch. Well, that and their faces in the previous bit. ^_^

I love it your sketchy style is great, you capture the looks of the characters even with the few lines. And that is totally what Toph would do
hehe cavewoman style ... makes me giggle.

Thank you! Yeah, now anyone who wants can look at an example of the rough and messy skeletons of my unfinished work... You ought to see the in-progress pieces for "Changed", I'm considering scanning them for humor's sake. Stick figure thumbnails on a piece of stationary, and the actual pencilwork done on old crumpled gray packing tissue because I couldn't find any paper...
