Description
The LRT-31 (Light Reconnaissance Tank) started life as a low-budget high-speed artillery tractor. However, as self-propelled artillery became more commonplace it seemed as though the LRT-31 was doomed to be scrapped. This however, was not the case.In the mid-years of the Teruvian Consulate's support of the Therion Minarchy, during the 3rd epoch of the IDI War, the LRT-31 was given to Teruvian units as a light infantry transport. However, with the chassis on hand, the Teruvians began looking into way to use the chassis in new ways. Due to this, the engine of the LRT-31 was moved to the rear to allow for a central fighting compartment to be utilized.
With this new fighting compartment on hand, the smaller Teruvians utilized their smaller size to create a line of easily modifiable and variant-able light tanks under the auspices of "Light Reconnaissance Tank". It's small size and high speed allowed it to be geared in a way to change it's engines from high torque to high speed, making it one of the fastest and maneuverable tanks in the Coalition Inventory.
The First of the LRT-31 line was the LRT-31(S), designated so for it's light Charged Particle Lance, which was geared toward the classic light-tank role... moving with infantry and supporting them against other light tanks, armored cars, and enemy emplacements. The next version of the LRT-31 was the LRT-31(R) variant, designated so as the "Recon" variant, utilizing a light rail-gun in an open-topped turret the LRT-31(R) gave high speed and a bite to recon units, as well as doing away with the constrictive turret and giving a much better view range for the crew.
The Third Variant of the LRT-31 was an interesting one, born from a need voiced by infantry units, rather than tankers. The LRT-31 (MC) is the Mortar Carrier variant, carrying a 120mm Gravitic Mortar. Infantry with attached LRT-31(S) units were lamenting about how nice it was to have a light tank around... but about how the LRT-31 was largely ineffective against heavily entrenched troops and the need for indirect fire support. The Teruvians responded with the Mortar Carrier, able to fire short-range to mid-range indirect gun support with a heavy punch.
The fourth Variant of the LRT-31 was actually created by the Therion Minarchy. Infantry Patrols, were often being ambushed by Medium tanks during their entrenchment against the IDI. With main battle tanks, and medium tanks in short supply due to major tank engagements... and the LRT-31(S) being underwhelmingly incapable of engaging and destroying the Medium tanks, they took an LRT-31(MC) and tore the turret off of it... and then mounted a heavy 105mm Recoil-less rifle on it. This gave the tiny LRT-31 a nasty bite against Medium and some Heavy enemy vehicles, as well as against enemy bunkers where the light CPL of the 31(S) would have be insufficient. However, unsurprisingly... the unarmored fighting compartment of the LRT(IS) stopped it from completely usurping the role of the LRT-31(S) on the battlefield.
The fifth, and last Variant of the LRT-31 is the simplistic LRT-31(T). Designed as a supplement to all other LRT-31 Variants, the LRT-31(T) is a trailer variant. Geared to the parent LRT's engine and electronically controlled, the LRT-31(T) mimics the parent vehicle's engines and inputs in a way to follow along and add it's own engine power to the Parent vehicles'. Without a fighting compartment, or a driver's compartment, the LRT-31(T) is a true cargo-carrier. Often seen with Coalition infantry units being towed by one of the unit's LRT-31s, typically a vehicle such as the LRT-31(MC), it carries everything from Fuel, to water, to ammunition and food.
All in all, the LRT-31 is a reliable and easily mass produced line of highly versatile vehicles. Commonly called names such as the "Infantryman's Armor" or "Tiny Tanks with a Big Bite".

The tank looks constructed in pixel form! Though it doesn't shine as much, i love the work you put into it. Great job
