Description

Duck had gotten on alright for the most part of his run, whistling happily to other engines and humans along the line. But, when he got to Bulgy’s Bridge, it happened. With an almighty CRASH, Duck and his train fell down onto the road.

“Ouch!” Cried Duck. “Oh, what on earth?!”

“That wasn’t a comfortable landing.” Said Alice.

“No kidding, sister.” Agreed Mirabel. “Oh, wait, what about our passengers?!”

The driver and fireman, who had jumped clear, quickly went for help. A few minutes later, Bertie had come to collect the unhurt passengers and Harold quickly flew in to take the injured ones to hospital. No sooner had they gone, then Diesel arrived with the breakdown train.

“Duck!” He called. “Are you and your coaches ok?”

“I think so, Diesel.” Duck replied. “But we are more worried about the passengers. Harold’s had to medi back a fair amount of them.”

Diesel winced. “Was anyone killed?”

“I hope not.” Mirabel called up.

“Well, I think Sheffield or Oliver will have to take your trains, Duck. I’ll get you, Alice and Mirabel to the works.”

“Thanks, Diesel.”

Duck and his coaches were soon rerailed, and Diesel quickly took them to the works.

I know. Very tense here, isn't it? I'd really like to see a bit more Duck and Diesel interaction in a later episode of STMY, seeing how far they have come since 'Galloping Sausage' in season 2. It implied that the 2 were getting along better, (As have a few other episodes where Duck and Diesel were giving positive comments about each other when the other wasn't present), but we haven't seen the 2 act as actual friends yet, unless you count the additional story I wrote as an epilogue to 'Bad Apple'. But anyway, look out for the next one.

Update: As well as giving this pic an overhaul, at the time of writing, a Little Western trilogy is in the making with Diesel playing a fairly large role. I can't wait.
