Did you ever meet someone you really enjoyed being with? I mean, not just like the many people you meet everyday, get along well and like hanging around with but more like someone of whom you just love the way they act, the way they talk, and maybe even had heaps of things in common that you went through in the past? And just hearing the other's name brings a smile to you? Maybe you even influenced each other in a way or the other, did loads of things together and are really really proud of that?It'd be someone you trust to no end, and you'd know you'd always be telling each other the truth - and where it's just plain obvious for you that you'd both stick around and be there for each other, no matter what?
Those are the friendships that last forever - nothing that cannot be talked about, no argument that cannot be settled, for every one of them knows the other one just wants the best for them and their friendship. And those are just the little things that can mean the world for someone.

This is what this picture is all about - it's trying to express true friendship, with warmth and deep caring for each other that can only come from a true friend.
I mean, there are many people you know and get along really well, I'm sure ^-^ But of how many do you know you can really really trust them, and of who you'd know that no matter what the future brings, they'd never turn their back at you, always be there and talk about what's worrying them, or if something is wrong? There are so many shallow 'friendships' - someone hoping to get something out of the other, someone sticking around because they're usually bored and you entertain them so well with your efforts, someone sticking to you just because you're on the sunny side of the life right now, or someone who thinks of you just as another stepping stone to whatever they want? How do you know for sure? It's easy to be friendly with someone if you hope to get something out of them. Know those goofy movies where that big ol' lion suddenly sees everyone around him as huge steaks? I mean, sure, it's cartoon, but - what do your friends see you as? What do mine? Or everyone else's? Do you know for sure?
They say true friends would do everything for each other, but what about fake friends? Well of couuurse they'd do everything, because they get something out of it, which is sad. You don't know their motives until it's too late anyway.
With true friends they do it because you're both going through life as friends, facing and surpassing everything it has to put in your ways; together. And despite of how big the world is, how many people are around your place, or even on deviantArt - these kinds of friendships are so very rare and probably the very most precious treasure one can possibly be lucky enough to find.
Friends forever? These words have a lot of meaning behind them, if you think of it.

Sunset? Even though it's a short and simple title, I think it's pretty creative ;3 Besides, what other title could have fit this?
This is very, VERY beautiful ^-^ There's so much to comment on..@o@;;..
So Let's start With Lenore and Toby :3. The shapes of their heads are very well done, especially Lenore's. Those big 'ol ears..although I can't see her face, I can imagine how cute it is even by just looking at the back of her head 
They way you drew the..um..*thinks of the name* ..;_; I'm so stupid. I can't remember what that brown thing they're laying on is called..and I have one in my backyard..>< Oh well :3 It's looks very nice, especially with all the wrinkles you drew. It looks like it's leaning a bit more to the right side, but usually when you hang those things up they'll always hang more to one side soo..yeaah :3. I know this is weird but..I think the way you made it round on the bottom for their butts looks cute XD *pokes them* The palm (?) trees also look very, very pretty =3 Although I find it weird that such little, pretty flowers can hold up so much weight o_o..ooh, one little question, is that Lenore rat or Lenore doggeh? I can't really tell..x.x;;
The whole scenery/background of this is gorgeous. It's amazing how you can have so much patience to shade all this..well, to even draw it, in the first place xox. That little gecko is hard to catch down there ;3 He kinda reminds me of a little dinosaour (however you spell that) down there..

Wow, very nice! Very, umm.. lively (I can't find the adjective worth describing it properly) colors along the horizon and over the sky. Took me a few minutes to see that lizard in the grass 
I've had an idea for drawing a picture of a sunset... but I'm not really good at it (its not perfect... nor is it really good looking either... ended up getting to shadowed x.x; ).

The sunset coloring is so rich and warm, so inviting. I feel like I am sitting right there looking at the lovely view as if I was a character inthe piece. This is terrific in so many ways, a nice change from the icy feel of your past works, this one is so relaxing and makes me feel cozy and cuddly. I always enjoy seeing your work

I love how you put in such tiny little details, all the flowers, and the little lizard... I love the lighting you've used as well, and the sky is stunning!! It looks like it's aflame... The palm trees are adorable. XD (Yes, adorable trees. They smile at me. XD) I like how you did the tiny folds in the hammock, oh, and the crosshatching-shading on the palm trunks rocks!! ohoh! I also have another critque. :3 see the rivers? they looks too round and three dimensional. if you added more shading (the shade coming from the land that is in front of the river) to make it look more realistic, and less like a three dimensional stick.

Ohh, wow..I always have difficulty starting these comments on your art because there's just sooo much to say(if a picture is worth a thousand words, yours are worth a million!), buuut I'll do my best ^-^
This was really a huge surprise, despite that I saw the sketch already, I had no idea you'd color and submit it. In fact, When you told me you submitting something, I was expecting a 'polished up' version of only the mouse and lizard(you told me the original had more to it, but I didn't think it was anywhere near this much *-*). It's just plain gorgeous..the sunset especially stands out, looking as warm and luminous as fire pretty much being the life of the image(hence the title..it's simple, but fits perfectly, so no worries about that at all

Ooh yay! It's been a bit of a while since we last saw from you, quite nice seeing that you're still creating! ^^ This looks marvelous, maybe this is what you've been working on ever since your last winter picture? It certainly seems like it could have taken that long with the size and detail. @.@ Even though my computer's dark and I can't see as much on DA, it still looks realistic that way, since sunsets are right before night so all you can really see well is all the lightened areas, by water that has some light left in it or some open area where nothing block the area between the sun and yourself. From that view I really liked how the rivers stood out more, so bright and vivid (Probably my favorite part of the picture at the first look), then you could see the silhouettes of the palm trees and your characters over the ocean and rivers.
But I liked looking through it with Open Canvas even more, so much detail! In the grass, in the coco nuts, in the plants along the border, seeming almost like a little border... it all turned out beautiful. I didn't think too many people on computers spent enough time outside to really capture the detail and the look of plants... but once again, there's another surprise! :3 Ooh, and the hammoc looks so realistic, both of you weighing it down jut a bit, and each and every wrinkle seems to be included too! The flowers seem pretty bright for it being almost night, perhaps they're the glow in the dark kind, or maybe every decorative lights? Either of those ideas could work well, and they still look pretty! ^^
Definitely reminds me of a pretty view from a dock or hotel, after a really fun day with friends... and seeing as how it's the both of together here, hopefully it was a fun day with each other. ^^ Quite a way to end good times! And it looks like there's even a hint of romance telling from the reptile and mouse's (Maybe even the same mouse from the winter picture? :B) kiss? Well, either way I think it's smashing. ^^ Hopefully we'll see from you more often. :3

Yush, I know what you mean - especially on darker pictures, I find it hard to balance between too dark and not dark enough - knowing that it might appear darker on other deviants' screens - sooo .. I'd have no idea how dark it is on yours, but judging from your descriptions, how you could spot the details, I'd say we roughly have the same darkness (I raised the brightness a little, after completing it, since Lenore told me that a few parts were black on her screen, which were dark green on mine). I noticed the flowers being too bright too, when drawing it, but I didn't want to darken them - for some reason, to me it added vividness to the drawing .. but I might try it, since it could add quite a bit to the atmosphere, going for realism here .. thanks for the input, in any case
Eep, I feared it could be interpreted that way, with the lizard and the mouse kissing .. they were actually supposed to sniff each other, being all curious about what the other one might be, and what they're up to

Wow, it's aboslutely gorgeous! I've always had a weakness for sunset colours, they're just so beautiful~ You've captured the sunset itself very well, too! It might be a bit too dark around the "edges" of the sky, but I actually think it looks better that way
