Gold was the first you saw when you opened your eyes in the morning. But it wasn't the sun, it was much warmer and beautiful than that.

You closed your eyelids again, smiling and pressing yourself further into Law's embrace. "Your eyes are so stunning..." you sighed.

Law's fingers tangled in your hair as he smiled. He would never get tired of hearing how much you liked him. "Good morning to you, too, my beauty," he replied with a slight tint of humor in his voice.

When you looked at him, he began pressing kisses to your entire face, then moved to your neck and purposefully tickled you, making you squirm and giggle. He soon stopped tickling you but continued kissing your neck and shoulders, his legs trapping yours.

You laughed merrily. "You're extra cuddly today, any reason?"

He pulled back to nuzzle you and peck your lips, a genuine smile matching his sparkling eyes. "I'm happy," he answered. "I've slept well, with no nightmares, and when I woke up you were here. My friends are here too, and I'm on holidays to celebrate I'm going to marry the woman I love. Reality feels good, and I'm happy." His hand cupped your face and his thumb brushed your cheek. "Just happy."

His words put a bright grin on your mouth. "Really? Not a cloud in the sky?"

"Not today. I feel great." With those words, he tightened his arms around you, and rolled on his back, leaving you on top.

Finally. You both could finally feel happy and just happy, as he had said, about your lives. Even if just for a day.

You supported yourself with your forearms on each side of his head, and his hands lifted to move your hair away from your face.

"Did you have a nice dream?" you asked.

His fingers traced your smile as he lovingly looked at you. "I'm having it now."

"Cheesy," you teased as he gently pulled you down to kiss you. You slid a hand beneath his shirt to caress his torso, knowing how much he loved your touch.

When you parted, he stared at you with half-lidded eyes, your caresses making a sigh escape his lips. "We're staying here all day," he decided.

You laughed before affectionately rubbing his nose with yours. "We have time to stay all day in bed together, now it's better to spend time with your nakamas, don't you think?"

"You owe me a day in bed," he begrudgingly stated, knowing you were right.

You kissed the subtle pout on his lips. "As many as you want." Your eyes met his hat, laying on the nightstand, and you sat up to grab it. "I'm ready to give this back, I know you're not going anywhere without me."

Law sat up too, and after you placed the hat on his head, he held you tightly. "And you can be sure I won't let you go anywhere without me, too."

"Captain!" Bepo cheered when you reunited with everyone in the kitchen. Sanji had woken up early to buy food and cook a huge breakfast for everyone.

Law let him hug him. "Good morning, Bepo."

"How did you sleep?" the bear innocently asked after letting him go. The hair bleach had worked, and he didn't look surprised anymore.

Law's hand squeezed yours in silent gratitude as his eyes lovingly watched you for a moment. "I had a good night."

Penguin and Shachi whistled. "He had a good night!" the first suggestively applauded.

"A good night!" the second repeated, mimicking the tone his friend had used.

"We know why," they concluded in unison, grinning teasingly at their captain and you.

Law shook his head with a poker face. "No, you don't."

Their silly comments made you look for your best friend, surprised she hadn't already joined them. "Where's Esther?"

Their smiles froze on their faces, and their bodies tensed visibly.

"Sleeping," an annoyed voice responded.

You turned to see Kid walking to you and carrying Esther on his back. Her eyes were closed and her face relaxed, but her fingers were tightly closed around Kid's red locks.

"She was like this when I woke up this morning," he grumpily explained. His eyes moved to you, and for once he didn't scare you that much. "Do you know how to remove her? I need to shower. And before you suggest cutting my hair, I'll rather cut her hands."

Law frowned. "She snuck in your bedroom? It's not her style."

"I let her in to shut her up, I just didn't know she would turn into a head louse during the night," Kid grunted.

Law sighed, releasing your hand to see what he could do, not to help Kid, but to help Esther. "This woman..."

"Sorry, Captain, we told her not to, but she insisted..." Penguin apologized.

"It's fine, I know you tried," he responded before pulling from her arm, which resulted in her pulling Kid's hair.

"HEY!" he barked.

Law ignored him. "Bepo, hold her."

Bepo obeyed, and Law got close to her ear and whispered something.

Her eyes remained closed but her lips curved. "That's wrong, you're engaged..." she sleepily babbled.

Law rolled his eyes, taking the chance to open her hands, now they had relaxed. Bepo carried her, and she immediately snuggled into his fur, falling asleep again.

"What did you tell her?" you questioned him.

"Something I'll never say again," he rumbled. He hoped Esther's brain was dozy enough to forget it.

You stood on your tiptoes to peck his cheek before helping grab some plates to move them to the dining room so you could all have breakfast together.

Bepo had to eat with Esther clinging to him because, once again, she wouldn't wake up. Obviously, she had spent another night awake, and this time her body had reached its limit. "Do you still think Kid is going to try hurting any of us?" you asked Law before thanking Sanji for the breakfast. His food was very delicious.

"Guess not. It would actually be a very stupid move," he admitted. In fact, he doubted Kid hadn't been able to wake Esther himself and he suspected he hadn't wanted to be harsh with her. Maybe his enemy wasn't as puffed up without his crew and devilfruit powers.

Bop. Bop. Beep.

Bop. Bop. Beep.

Law grabbed his tamagotchi from the pocket of his pants and, upon seeing it was hungry, fed it.

"What's that?" Zoro asked with a curious gaze.

"Chirp," Law briefly answered.

"It's a tamagotchi," you informed before swiftly explaining what it was.

"I didn't know you liked toys," Ikkaku commented.

Law's cheeks took a pinkish hue. "It's the first gift (Y/N) gave me..." he mumbled, although everyone could hear him.

"Oh, that's repulsive," Kid, who was just entering the room, commented. He took a seat and began to eat.

Shachi approached his captain to peek at the toy. "What is it supposed to be? A pig?"

Law glared at him. "It's a chick."

A smile curved your lips at the slightly annoyed tone in Law's voice, showing that he was offended by Shachi's assumption.

"Let me see it!" Luffy cheered, reaching out for the object.

Law quickly placed it back in his pocket, to what Luffy pouted. "You would break it."

"Come on, I just want to see it," Luffy insisted, now trying to get the toy.

"I said no," Law protested, restraining Luffy's arms.

"Torao... Friends share!"

"I'm not your friend!"

You blinked, feeling as if you were back at school, watching your classmates fight. "Luffy, I'll get one for you when we return to the city, okay?"

The strawhat boy looked at you with stars in his eyes and left his childish fight with your fiancé to hug you. "Thank you, Torako!"

You smiled. "It's nothing."

"What are we doing today?" Nami questioned. "Apart from tonight's party."

"I was thinking we could take Bepo to the lake," Law said, looking for your eyes to know what you thought.

You smiled brightly and nodded.

"Is that really okay? You don't need to waste time on me," Bepo doubtfully questioned.

"It's not a waste of time, the woods are beautiful," you soothed him.

"And we can take the chance to bond with (Y/N)!" Shachi chimed.

"Yes! We have questions!" Penguin exclaimed.

Law lifted an eyebrow. "More?"

"Many more," Ikkaku affirmed, sending you an apologetic look. "You don't need to answer them all."

"I'll do my best..." you insecurely responded. Thinking about it, even though they asked many questions already, they were mostly about your relationship with Law, so you supposed they simply wanted to know you better. You understood, but it awakened old insecurities. However, you also noticed these insecurities felt much weaker than they used to.

"Or you can ignore them," Law asserted.

You smiled at him. "It's okay, I'll try to answer them."

"And after lunch, we can go shopping," Nami intervened again. "You said there was a mall not far from the town, right?"

"Maybe they have 'tamicachis' there!" Luffy shouted. Thank goodness you were the only ones at the hotel.

"Tamagotchis," Zoro corrected him.

Everyone started cheerfully chatting about what they might find at the mall. You looked at Law, who kept eating calmly, but a soft smile curved his lips. You could see he was enjoying being with his crew and the Strawhats.

It was going to be such a fun day.
