NOTE: This story may contain spoilers. You've been warned!

You couldn't say the day had been relaxing, so far. It had been very active, and many times even frenetic. Keeping in mind who you were with, it was to expect. But, even though days like these exhausted you, and calm days were your favorite, you wouldn't have changed this day.

You had taken a walk around the town to see all the decorations and find out more about that night's celebration. After that, you went to the woods, where you spent the rest of the morning. It had been a bit stressful to have Luffy, Shachi, Penguin, and Esther (who had been sleeping with Bepo while you visited the town but was awake and as overexcited as usual when you returned) acting crazy here and there, and making sure Zoro didn't get lost, but it was so funny too. You understood, more than ever, why Esther loved them so much. They were all adorable, even Kid. Esther kept fangirling about the night she had spent staring at him, and he was, again, surprisingly patient with her, even though sometimes you could see him growing tired and had to intervene to distract your friend for a while so he could have a break.

Bepo really enjoyed his bath, but he wasn't the only one to dive into the lake. Despite the cold temperatures, Luffy, Zoro, and Shachi joined him (although everyone could tell this last regretted it). And, of course, there were the questions. Thousands of questions for you. About your life, likes and dislikes, family, opinions... Again, a bit stressful, but nobody seemed judgmental. It felt more like they wanted to know you because you were very important to their beloved captain. It would have been easier without Esther 'contributing' to some of your answers, though...

Instead of eating at a restaurant, Sanji prepared more delicious food for a picnic. Eating in the woods was probably your less favorite thing, bugs made it a hard task and you couldn't be comfortable, but it allowed you to enjoy Law's care, as he was constantly watching for bugs so ate as comfortably as possible.

Law. He was the main reason why the day was so enjoyable, despite its frenzy. He was relaxed and happy. Seeing him interact with the Strawhats, and especially with his crew, so carefree, sometimes even joking with his usual smugness, was a blessing. It was a side of him you didn't have the chance to see much, only in a couple of scenes from the anime, and you loved it. It was strange being part of it, but you felt so grateful.

After lunch, you had planned to return to the hotel to rest, but Esther suggested going to the mall and resting at the cinema instead, watching a movie. Everyone liked her idea, so you took the cars and headed there.

There was something you didn't think about, though; there wasn't any interesting movie you could see.

"They all look awful..." Esther commented, reading the reviews on her mobile.

Law was doing the same with his. "The horror one seems the best, but here it says it's very gory."

Kid grinned darkly. "Finally, something that's not pink and soft in this sappy world. Let's watch that one."

"(Y/N) won't like it," Law retorted, not needing more reasons to discard it.

"This world isn't any less dark than yours, you're just in a lucky spot..." Esther replied to Kid's comment, rereading the movies' synopsis.

The pirate looked at her, lightly shocked by the seriousness and subtle hint of bitterness in her tone.

Nami peeked at Esther's phone. "What do you think, Luffy?"

"Look at all that popcorn!!!!" the boy exclaimed, drooling in front of a candy store.

"He just wants food," Sanji stated, unimpressed.

"I doubt he cares as long as he has something to eat," Zoro noted while grabbing his captain's hoodie by the collar to keep him from entering the store and eating everything.

"Do you have any preference?" Law asked you.

You looked at him. "I think you would like the gory one."

"We're not going to watch that one, you'd suffer."

"But you would like it."

Shachi, who had heard you, approached you with a cautious look. "Is it very scary?"

Ikkaku rolled her eyes. "Don't be a chicken."

"I don't think Bepo enjoys it, either," Penguin intervened. "Maybe we can divide into groups and see a different movie each?"

"What makes it fun is watching the same together," Nami disagreed.

Ikkaku smirked. "Especially if some of you are going to pee your pants."

"You're evil!" Penguin and Shachi snapped.

Bepo rested his paw on Law's head. "I want to be with (Y/N) and the captain."

You smiled at Law and pushed him gently with your hip. "Come on, we always watch movies I like, and you're not the only one who prefers that one. I won't look at the scary scenes."

Law was very doubtful, but time was ticking and, in the end, he accepted. "If I notice you're having a hard time we'll leave."

You smiled at how serious he was. "Fiiine."

Like it happened at the pool, you had some trouble with Bepo. The boy who was checking your tickets noticed him and said he couldn't go in with that bear costume. But you were all surprised when Esther broke into tears and made a dramatic scene about how her friend had eyes on his face and knew how he looked, and that it was painful enough to deal with such a complicated illness to have people pointing at him and calling him bear, and how he just wanted to do normal things and feel normal for once. Her cries were actually pretty incoherent, but she was being so noisy and seemed so utterly offended that the boy thought he had messed up and emphatically apologized before letting you in. Bepo looking depressed and saying 'sorry' repeatedly helped as well. The rest of you tried keeping a grave expression, or at least remain as if you were mad for the treatment received (Nami cried a little too), but more than one had to look away to hide their faces, as Esther's performance made it hard not to laugh.

As soon as you were out of the boy's sight, she stopped crying and smiled like nothing ever happened, rubbing her hands. "Well, who wants popcorn!?"

Law observed her with a lifted eyebrow. "I didn't know you could cry at will."

She shrugged, although smiling proudly at him. "I'm a passionate woman."

Since you had lunch recently, Luffy was the only one to buy the popcorn, and the rest of you got drinks. The theater was empty and smaller than the ones you were used to, but you had chosen the bests seats, so you didn't change them.

Esther managed to sit between Kid and Zoro. "You two will protect me, right?" she said, leaning toward the swordsman and blinking rapidly.

He tapped her head uncomfortably, hoping she would mainly focus on the other pirate and left him alone. He loved his captain, but he had enough with one Luffy.

"I will too!" Sanji exclaimed, sitting behind her.

She turned around to smile at him before standing up to hug him theatrically.

Kid clicked his tongue and began to stand. "I'm moving to another seat."

Hearing this, Esther hurried to hold his arm and stop him. "Nooo! I need protection!" she pouted.

Kid glared at her. "From a screen?"

She knelt on her seat and wrapped her arms around his neck. "If you don't stay the movie will scare me. If the movie scares me I'll have nightmares. If I have nightmares, I'll have to sleep with you again. Therefore, "she looked at him in seriousness, "you protect me now or you protect me tonight."

The redhead leaned his face closer to her. "Or I kill you and you leave me alone. Corpses don't need protection."

She blushed and released him to cup her cheeks. "Stop flirting, my heart can't take it!"

Kid lifted an eyebrow at her unexpected response. Was she even listening?

At that moment, the lights turned off and the screening of the ads began. Penguin and Shachi squeezed closer to Bepo, already preparing for the movie.

Law took your hand between his and rested it on his lap. "Your hand is cold, are you alright?"

Your eyes rose to his, that looked at you with soft concern, and you smiled sheepishly. "I'm actually a bit nervous because I know this is going to frighten me."

Law sighed, frowning slightly. "This is unneeded. It's just a movie, probably a bad one, we don't have to watch it."

You squeezed his hand, lifting your chin stubbornly. "I want you to watch it."

"But I don't want you to."

You giggled at his seriousness and leaned your head on his shoulder before looking up at him. "Then I'll watch you instead." You playfully poked his cheek with your free hand before dropping it on top of his. "Handsome."

His mouth twitched into a smirk. "Fine, you win for now." He pecked your lips before wrapping an arm around you while his free hand enveloped yours, and let his eyes return to the screen.

Shachi leaned to him in confusion. "I don't get it. A guy shows up driving a car like a pro, and then his wife gets her period and tells us about how wonderfully her pads work before a family has a happy picnic thanks to their friendly bank? Is this scary and gory?  I mean... That woman's period was blue! Or is that how it is in this world?" His frown deepened. "Is that how it is in our world?"

Ikkaku noisily slapped the back of his neck.

Law deadpanned at him. "These are ads, the movie hasn't started yet."

Shachi blushed. "Oh..." He drowned in his seat and feigned to concentrate on the screen. "This is too confusing..."

Law turned to look at you, feeling your eyes constantly on him, and chuckled. "You're really going to stare at me the whole time?"

You widened your smile as confirmation. "Handsome."

His arm brought you closer, and he pressed another kiss to your lips. "Beautiful."

You thought not looking at the screen wouldn't be enough and the sounds would unsettle you, but it turned out Law's reactions to the movie were enough distraction. He was expressionless most of the time, but when the sounds told you something gruesome was going on, he used to laugh. If you had to judge the movie only from his reactions, you would think it was a comedy.

At first, you wondered if it was one of those movies that's so terribly awful that it's funny but, seeing the others, it didn't seem the case. Luffy was too focused on his popcorn (in fact, he left the theater once he finished them and never returned, so you assumed he kept eating outside), Zoro seemed mainly bored, and Ikkaku was watching the movie normally. But Shachi and Penguin were terrified, clinging to Bepo, who wasn't scared only because he seemed confused. Nami seemed more disgusted than scared, but still, and Sanji would probably be scared too if it wasn't because Nami jumped in his direction whenever something frightened her, and he was too happy about it. Lastly, Esther was scared too, and Kid was suffering the consequences. Maybe he'd end up killing her after all...

In conclusion, purposefully or not, you doubted the movie was funny at all, so you guessed it was just Law's macabre sense of humor showing up.

You smiled when, after half of the movie had passed, he yawned. Then, he turned to you and smiled back before leaning to you. "How's my sunshine? Very bored?"

You shook your head. "I like watching you," you whispered. "Why do you laugh so much?"

"The gore stuff is ridiculously fake." He turned to the screen. "You can't do that with a bladder." He turned back to you. "It's getting boring now, it's the same all the time even though there are so many things they could do. They have no imagination."

"If someone used your imagination for a gore movie, it would be banned in all countries," you joked. "Probably it would even be banned from the deep web."

His lips curved into a smirk, and his body turned to face you, now completely ignoring the movie. "You know how to flatter me." After that, he leaned in for a long kiss. "Hm... I just found something much more interesting to do."

He began leaning in again, but you stopped him with an amused smile. "Wait... Being in the cinema with someone making out next to you is super annoying. I've been in that situation."

Law blinked before taking a skeptic look at Shachi and the others, his eyebrow still lightly lifted when he looked back at you. "I'd say they're either too far away, or too busy freaking out to even notice. So..." He playfully pursed his lips and pecked your lips.

You giggled quietly. "Don't tell me gore gets you turned on."

"You get me turned on," he retorted before catching your curled lips.

This time you didn't pull back, just hoping nobody had heard him. "You're a bad influence."
