O_O This is incredible! The only issue I see is that the mecha itself is static when firing, only sliding back. In my opinion, the lack of motion takes away from the impact of the blast.
If you show some recoil by having the knees bend a bit, and/or the torso moving back a bit before the rest of the body follows, I think it would look much better.
The overall design, the drop, and the blast itself are absolutely perfect though!
