Reader P.O.V

You looked up from the warm coffee in your previously cold hands. He was always there. Monsters had been released from the Underground less than 7 months ago. Being a polite person in nature, you welcomed these strange new beings when others did not. You gaze drifted to the monster sitting in the corner writing something down, every now and then taking a sip of his drink. He wore a black turtle-neck sweater with dark grey pants and black shoes. Dark casual.

He was a skeleton, but he had no nasal hole...No nose. He had two cracks in his skull. One came down from the top of his skull and into his right eye. The other come down from the bottom of his left eye and into his mouth. Because of the crack in his right eye, it was half lidded to the point of almost being closed. You sighed and took a long sip of your coffee. You weren't just polite, you were smart too.

You knew he probably sat in the back because it was less noisy and he could get more of whatever he was doing done. He also undoubtedly didn't want to sit near all the nosy, rowdy, RUDE, discriminative humans. Your eyes hooked on a woman that looked like a PTA mom glaring at him because he had caught her son's attention somehow. You could hear some of their conversation.

"Mommy! Look! A Skeleton monster! Can I go say hi? He looks cool!" You smiled at this child's politeness to monsters. A quality you could admire.

"Absolutely not! That's a disgusting monster! You'll get sick! Or worse, he'll hurt you! Monsters are savage! Don't go near them!" You frowned at the mother. That was rude. You resisted the urge to get up and scream and shout and let it all out. The boy's attention fell onto you. you mouthed the words 'No they're not' The boy giggled happily and your confirmation that monsters were nice. With one last scoff at the skeleton, the mother and the boy left.

You took another sip of your coffee and began to fiddle with the hem of the jumper you were wearing. You looked up to stare at the skeleton again... to find he was already staring at you. When his one working eye met your (E/C) gaze, he immediately averted his eye(socket?) with a light yellow dusting his cheekbones. By the time you looked away, your cheeks were also dusted red.

You actually had no idea what to do.Your cup was empty and you have the next 2 days off work. The monster sighed and got up. He put his cup in the bin and started towards the door. You sighed deeply and let your eyes wander and the door shut with a click. You eyes drifted to the table he vacated. They landed on lined paper. A notebook. Not just any notebook. His notebook. You got up and walked over to the table. The page with writing had been flipped over so it was just blank lined paper.

You threw your cup in the bin from about 4 metres away. Skillz. you picked up the notebook and speed walked to the door. You opened it and walked into the chill winter air and shut it with a click. You looked left and right for the monster. You saw a black shoes retreat around the corner. You ran, shivering against the chills. Damn, that monster reeally hauled ass. But he's a skeleton so how does he even have an ass? Who cares?! Um, he reeally hauled.. pelvis? You finally got within earshot and yelled,

"Wait!"

The monster stiffened and halted his reeeally brisk walking pace. He turned around with the sliiightest yellow on his cheekbones. Your hand were on your knee and you were trying to hide and stabilize your panting. Your breathing was finally under control and you closed the remaining distance between you both. You still kept a healthy distant away from him, but still closer than even the bravest monster haters would dare to attempt.

He looked surprised at your sudden closeness, but didn't complain. He was silent and waited for you to say something.

"You left something at the coffee shop.."

He cocked his head in curiosity. Still no words. Maybe he didn't like to talk? You held up the note book and his cheekbones went even more yellow. You handed to leather book to him and he took it, his fingers lightly brushing yours. They weren't hard and cold, like you expected them to be. They were soft and warm, and this made you want to his his hand in yours and run your fingers over each and every one of his phalanges-THATS ENNOOUGH!!

"D-did you read it?" His voice was low and smooth, like velvet. It was beautiful.

"U-Uh No! I would never invade someones privacy like that." He let out a breath.. of relief? Some of his blush seemed to drop. You did the unexpected. You held your hand out.

"I'm (Y/n). Nice to meet you." He hesitated, but then shook your hand with his own smooth one. You noted that he had holes in the place where his palms should be.
"Gaster."

Gaster. Gaster. The name echoed in your mind, your body , your very soul. A beep came out of nowhere and he checked his watch.

"Oh my. I'm so sorry I have to go. It was nice meeting you!"

His hand left yours, and you instantly felt cold, like you were empty and you needed his touch to be full again.

"Nice meeting you too."

He gave you a charming smile and waved. Then he walked away, disappearing into the shadows. Gaster. The name rung through your mind once more. You set off to do something. To live.

Gaster P.O.V

As I made it back home I sat at my desk and opened my notebook. I smiled with relief that she didn't read it. She would've got the shock of her life. The warmth and surprising softness of her hands ghosted his own. He began to read the his own writing from the coffee shop.

That girl comes to the coffee shop every day. She's always there when I come in the morning. Her (E/C) Eyes sparkle with the mood she's in that day. He (H/C) is very well kept, trimmed and brushed out. There is a feeling I get when I walk past her to leave. A burning emotion. My soul just wanted to come out of my rib cage and go to her every time she looks at me. Love? Unless I Talk to her I'll never find out. She's beautiful..
