Wet on wet (I think it's called that way  ).
To do something like this you need to wet your paper completley. The paper needs to be moist/damp, but not so much that you can see "water lakes" on the paper

Then you add color on the surface. The more the paper is wet the more the color will spread. To create white spots or textures you use (play with  ) clear water and salt. Salt is your best friend, remember that  .
Everything was done while the paper was still wet. After it completely dried, I painted the stems of the trees and added splashes of black color.

I saw your tree paintings   The only thing you need to change to achieve "cloudy" trees is by making your paper surface more wet. In your paintings the brush strokes are still visible which means you had a too dry surface.

I also saw you followed a tutorial on YT (great  ). I have another one youtu.be/jOpWK59Hf48?t=54s
It's not a tutorial, but you can see how the color behaves on wet paper, how it spills. This technique is a try and error one. You have to try it many times to see what works and what not. It also depends on good luck...for me

I'm not a pro, but I hope I could help you

oh my god !!!! you're sooooooo kind !!!!
I honestly didn't expect such a long reply !!!! And big thanx for visiting my gallery. I recently started painting watercolor trees and I'm so in love with it, I want to try different techniques, it's amazing the variety of effect we can manage.
I will listen to your advice, and i'll show you what I came up with !

Don't worry I bite only after dark    ...just joking.
I'm happy I could help you.

You only learn by making art...and the best teachings come unexpected when you make a mistake. Sometimes you learn what not to do, but sometimes you learn some useful stuff. Like when a droplet of water drops on your wet painting (at that point you get mad of course  ) and then it makes a funny texture...and you go...wow...good to know that

you're right ! That's why i started a sketchbook now. This way i can try many thinks without really caring about the outcome, so i can see which one was a good idea, and which one wasn't ! It really helped me

Thank you.
It was a quick one. I wasn't in the mood to make a "real" painting, but at the same time I had nothing else to do.   So this and my other "green" painting came out.

This is very nice. I'm only sorry it's spoiled by the watermark.

Thank you.

The watermark is a must have for me.  Some people are so mean they download and re-upload the artwork as their own.  Or the artworks are send from one social media page to another. Without anyone knowing who the artist is, who made it.
My watermark is also my info "card"...where someone can find me.
I see many artworks on the internet and don't know by whom it is. There's just no info.

And yes, I'm aware of the possibility of others to erase my watermark by pc.

That's okay. It's just such a lovely picture I thought it was a pity
to see it marred but I do understand your reasoning.

I like "pure" pictures too, but...   Well, it's ok that way...
Thank you for understanding
