Description

It took me a long time to get this done, especially with the whole Emitt Rhodes thing, but it's finally done! I'm going to do another variant with the Galileo probe in scene, but I'm going to do that another day, since I'm a little tired. After that, then, I'm going to do a painting of an astronaut at Enceladus, at mid-day near the equator. I already have a sketch done, and am excited to bring it to digital and get it started! I'll probably finish that first and then do a variant with Galileo, since I'm a little burnt out from looking at Jupiter.

I'm happy that I've been learning so much & being able to spend so much time on art, it feels great to know that I'm learning! I know this isn't perfect, but what matters is that I'm improving, day by day. If you ever have any critiques, please let me know! I'm more than happy to learn new things!

Also, I'm doing Image IDs now! I'm not the best writer, but I figure I should do my part to make art more accessible to the disabled community. Let me know if there's anything I can improve!

A portrait of Jupiter and it's moon Io, both at a waning gibbous phase, facing the left. Jupiter has several multi-colored bands in white/brown/orange, with the poles both being brown. On the dark side of Jupiter, there are lightning strikes going on, and there's a soft backlight effect from some of it's other moons. It also has a very faint set of rings going across it, they're mostly grey and black, and comprise of two lines. Europa is also in frame, but much smaller due to it being on the opposite side of Jupiter. It's located in the spot between Io and Jupiter, in the middle bottom, and is very bright due to its ice reflecting sunlight. It's surface is covered in a mostly brownish-blue ice, with streaks of red all over, and in the middle is a brownish-red surface. Right next to it is another moon, Amalthea, which is even smaller, but closer to Io overall. It is red and has a soft shine. Then, Io is on the far right side of the screen, featuring a variety of oranges, yellows, and browns all over. It also has a few volcanoes erupting, one of which is on the nightside, which is making a soft glow. Io also has a soft blue backlight.
