Its Tod from the Walt Disney classic " The Fox and the Hound " 100% freehanded, and totally epic if you ask me.lol. . ain't dat fawx juzt fuzzi wuzzi adorable?
anyways. . . im slowly moving into more realistic animals, so why not do something in-between?

I'll be Updating this periodicly, next update i'll be fine-tuning the lines more, darkening them a bit, and erasing the random sketch marks.
after that i guess ill work on the background a bit, or color it. . . but that means i need to wach the movie again so i can get the colors right. . .

i'd like you to tell me if i should upload the updates as a diffrent deviation, so you can see the cycle and process. . or so i can see my own sysce, and process. i'd end up with this one, a one with more defined lines, and probably a final colored one.
that, or just continue updating this one and hope you see the changes.
EDIT= im going to simply upload each step as a diffrent deviatation. its eaiser and i can look at all three and see the changes myslef. please fav and comment on the other versions when they come out, if not, then i b sad

Ok so I've procrastinated on critiquing this due to the fact that I'm not really a cartoonist. But I'll do my best ^^
Seeing as how it mirrors the movies style pretty closely, I'm guessing you copied this picture from the paused movie? Not traced, but copied blablabla (I do it too). Well, there's some things that you could definitly improve. While I see that you are going to post updated versions eventually, I would critique on those but I don't see that you have.
First of all, the tuft of hair on his head. While the movie's style of that is fairly spikey at times, you need to keep in mind that it'll look more natural if you draw it softer as in here [link] Also using that picture as a starting point, you colored in his paws, where in the movie they are white. The face seems a bit off center, almost as if it is constructed at an angle. That would most likely be fixed if you did a construction sketch. Basically, a circle with lines through it. That's how the professional cartoonists get everything to look so smooth and even. I'm not really sure what that big rectangular object on the left is, is it a tree? If so then you should look at cartoon trees and try to emulate the texture of the bark. Only a few trees are completely smooth, or only have small ridges. The grass definitely needs some work, just make sure that each blade has a more subtle curve to it, rather then being almost a triangle. The whole thing could be improved, but that's because it (hopefully) is still a WIP.

Firstly, i did still-frame part of the movie, and drew freehanded on my sketch pad while using it as a refrence, so yes. The updated versions will come as soon as i get my damned color scanner working again! and the tuft on his head, it was copied directly from a scene in the mofie, i have made a more recent version, i edited the lines, darkened them, straitened them and just generally inproved the entire drawing, this one is far to sketcky, i admit it, and i'm inproving it. and the pars, in the movie they were actually a darker shade of parnge than his normal fur, i don't know which version or whatnot you saw, but the one i own, (video cassette) was sort of a mixture of brown and oarnge. and yes, the face is off-center because in the scene, he was slightly tilting his head to the side, it was the opening scene where Big mama first finds him. and i know well about the construction sketches, i rarely use them because it just impedes my work. the object to the left, and abopve him is a fence, needs alot of work, i'll get it better by the time i upload the next version. and the grass i put the least effort into, i bacicly just drew ziggity lines in the places gras was in the movie and left it, the m,ajority of the effort here was focused on Tod. And yes, its a WIP.
At first you sounded harsh,i almost found myslef getting slightly irratated, but i had a long day, and the last thing i want to see is a nasty comment on (my opinion) one of my best pictures.

yeah. . love the fox. . i just freeze-framed it on the TV and sketched, it eventually continued, so the majority was done out of memory.

i brought it to school today for some fine-tuning on the lines, ya know, the general editing, ill update it soon. . . but anyways, i convinced like 8 people that havn't seen it to watch it, and was adored by everyone elce for drawing it :3
lol. . . alot of people didn't believe i had actually drewn this! they thought i traced. lol. . . saps. . . they just suck at drawing so much they think everyone does.
point is everyone should watch this movie, it may be childish,(not rly) but its just one of those things you just got to watch sometime in your life.
