AlkatrazProphet [2015-01-03 00:46:14 +0000 UTC]

It reminds me of the story of joseph in the bible, almost like a tragic alternate ending.

Interesting observation since one of the brothers here recently died. Tragic ending indeed.Β

Yes, a horrible tragedy for this family of six brothers to lose their youngest. I'm glad I got to photograph the six of them together before this happened.Β

I like the scuffing effect on the sky. I wonder if this was to give it an antique effect or to pull the eye to the foreground?

It could be all of those things, I don't really know. A saturated blue sky in digital is too strong for me and lacks visual interest, so I usually play with it a little if there weren't clouds to soften it on its own. It was a sunny, cloudless and cold day yesterday and a lot of what we did was within the context of what we had going on around us. The drapes on the brothers are as much about warmth as the visuals they create. It was really really cold.Β

The composition is classic, like the Dutch masters.
