Lovely regal portrait! I sometimes come across people whom I would love to draw, but I've never found the nerve to ask.

I'm not very good at asking people to work with me either, but I force myself anyway sometimes because I need great people to do what I do.

Do you usually get a favorable response? I imagine you would if they saw your work! I suppose I am overly afraid of people being weirded out if I asked them.

T_T why cant all men look like this? hahaha
Interesting fact.... Most people see handsomeness or beauty in the form of their mother or father. if you father is a bit chunky you are naturally attracted to chub, same goes with certain features -
Its commonly believed that some people lean more towards light skinned people based off the fact that there are less health problems associated with lighter skinned people.
Men first look towards a woman's breasts and then her buttocks to see if she can have a large amount of offspring.
We like chub for women as they seem more fertile.
We like mussels in men because females wish for their offspring to be strong and healthy, also the same reason why most women in abusive relationships cant leave the man... they seance a strength in them that they themselves dont have.
and for some reason males with facial hair give the feeling of security and gentleness thus why some women like beards....
I would like to ponder what people see in this man when they look at his face.....
I see peacefulness and intelligence beyond his years, and positiveness.

It would be nice if physical attraction could be described and understood so simply, but I think these are more blanket statements to a more atypical behavior that is only a margin of what actually happens. Sexual attraction can go much deeper than what we feel to naturally select , however what we may feel as natural can very easily be determined by what we experience when we are young. Many of our choices can be made from assosiation ( which in the same way prejudice's arive). As we grow and understand what "beauty" is because of the behavior of our superiors, we then want to imitate that "desireable" look. This can be through observing adults as we grow, or from what other sources describe as beautiful.
There are many questions to be asked as to why certain demographics of people desire certain traits.
Why are there trends in japan to have a visible fold in the eye lid?
Why is it culturally popular to be light skinned in India?
Why do people in the UK find a tanned person more attractive than someone who is not?
If we were genetically predisposed to like certain features of the human anatomy, then there would be vitually no difference between what is "attractive" world wide.
To think that attraction is hard wired genetically is common misconception ( though some things would be, such as preferring more symmetrical faces over more asymmetrical ones), but culture, history, and learned behavior play a very significant role in our choices.
I do totally agree though, that this guy is mad hott, and I'd hit it with a force of 1000 men.

Thank you for that. Beautifully expressed. Wesley is so beautiful - I knew within moments of first seeing him that I wanted to photograph him. I was embarassed because I couldn't stop staring at him. It happens sometimes with me and it's not about sex or romance or anything that one could hang a hat on. It's just that I do truly have a fascination with people and their bodies. Wesley is clearly a muse to me and I continue to draw great satisfaction from our work together.
Over the years I've been drawn to many mixed race people and it's a particular fascination that kicked in big time with Wesley. He appears Native American in this picture when in reality he's Japanese and Anglo. So much to ponder there. I have plans to do a book called "We Are Not All White."
