I really like the balance between blue and white in this photo and how the whiteness of the trees is found right in the middle. Also if the trail was a bit more focused it would have added better to centering the image but it does a pretty good job like that too

Thanks for the comment. More focus on the path would be surely nice, but it was so unevenly walked on that I would have trouble finding some leading line even in a bit more gentle temperature.

First of all, the mood of the image is great, it really makes you feel like you are there. And the strong diagonal creates a bit of dynamic.
That said, there are a few issues here. First, the image really lacks the point of interest, that one thing that will grab the viewer's attention. Without that, the eye just roams though the frame. Second thing is light. There is deep shadow in the front and the back is too bright. That trows the image out of balance.
There is a lot of potential here, and your hiking gives you access to some great locations I believe, so I think you could make some great images, you just need a little to really get there. I hope this comment was helpful and I'm looking forward to see some new good photos from you.

Thank you for the comment. I agree that the light is quite harsh. It was harsh to my own eye - walking out of shadow, get a bit of direct light only to go back to a bit darker parts. But without it, I think the snow would not stand out as much. And for some reasons, I enjoy these harsh contrasts in whatever form they come.
