Description
Unanimously hailed as one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of the motion picture, the story is set in the 1600s, when the residents of a small Japanese village are seeking protection against repeated attacks by a band of marauding thieves. Offering mere handfuls of rice as payment, they hire seven unemployed "ronin" (masterless samurai), including a boastful swordsman (Toshiro Mifune). The samurai get acquainted with but remain distant from the villagers, knowing that their assignment may prove to be fatal. The climactic battle with the raiding thieves remains one of the most breathtaking sequences ever filmed. It's poetry in hyperactive motion and one of Akira Kurosawa's crowning cinematic achievements. This is not a film that can be well served by any synopsis; it must be seen to be appreciated and belongs on the short list of any definitive home-video library.Drew for friend...

The one here is just with some color filters and I messed with focus on Toshiro. I might have kind of painted it or burned it, been a while. You are welcome to mess with the original penciled one if you like.

yes. I have an original scan as the raw. I havent had the time to mess with it and post high rez. The version I have posted is low low rez.

Hey thanks for looking at my pictures.
I had the image from an Akira Kurosawa book I had. I drew it out in pencil, probably a mechanical 0.5 mm, used to use it exclusivly years back. Then went back into it with a rapidograph ink pen, kind of just inking it. Scanned it into photoshop, probably 7.0 at the time. Was stupid huge into blurring stuff around that time. The original image isnt blurry at all. I wanted to have people focus on Toshiro Mifune. I colored it too in photoshop. Probably did that picture about 10 years ago, maybe. Was a while back. I could scan in the original if you would like, I have it around here somewhere. You will be able to tell what is pencilled and what inked.

Hey Becky. Ya this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Toshiro Mifune is the shit. Its pen and ink and graphite ran through photoshop during my blur things phase. Ya. Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa. Kick ass movie. Prety cool anime made few years back called samurai seven too. Glad you dug it. If you have about 3 hours and the ability to read subtitles check out the movie, one of the best ever made. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the first picture after 7 pages looking for 'Samurai' that didn't have a 12-year old boy/girl with abnormally big eyes in a somewhat adequatly drawn Samurai apparel. Man I hate anime.
