Description
This is part of the story of darkness as a liberation. I was inspired by the image of ink falling in water, and how that could interact with the body. A large painting I recently finished for a collective exhibition. Probably my favorite painting yet. I recommend Flesh and Bone - The Killers, for the full feeling.---------------------------Edit: So I go to sleep after posting "Stampede", wake up and have 700+ messages in my mailbox (Surreal for me) and I discover I have a Daily Deviation! Did you paint the "smoke" with an airbrush?

No, I painted (the falling ink) with normal brushes, but used the oil more diluted.

I love this Β - cant decide if he's taking the reins - climbing out - releasing his darkness - or grabbing onto it to hold on and pull out but it'a all solid and I love it (not the using the word lightly)

Reins are used on horses. I don't see any horses. Unless you're into that kind of BDSM stuff the title has no correlation with the image, if you are, get some help.Β

oh my first hater XD. It's just a metaphor, like getting in control of your life, life being a horse. Horses are controlled by reins, and reins are held in the hand, so here you can see he is grasping darkness as the reins for controlling his life.
