Description
Next:[link]NOTE: I spent a long time on this comic. If you may, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what you liked/didn't like/how I could do better instead of just saying "nice" or something like that. EVERYTHING is Β© ME.
Whew! I finally got around to actually drawing and painting this comic about my little Leaf Creature named Earnest! (indirectly) thanks to . Seeing some great watercolor comics gave me the encouragement to do my own. This is just the first part, so stay tuned for more! (that is, once I go buy a new watercolor pad.)
I think I've mentioned that I use a lightbox nowβthat is, I took out a clear drawer from a plastic chest and tape my first paper on top and my watercolor paper on top of that, and I hold my desk lamp between my legs for the light while I ink it. It's a bit complicated, but it works and I don't need to worry about erasing pencil lines!
Hope you enjoy this, and PLEASE crit and comment! As I said earlier, I spent a lot of time on this and it would be appreciated!

Thanks! The reason why my sig is often there is because this is actually a series of pages that I just put together as a long doc, so that's why its allways there. Glad you liked!

I do like it. Very much. I know it is a long series of pages, but since it is presented as a single piece of art (or a single comic page), I think one sig would be fine. Still, not that big of a detail. I think your skill and the beauty of the art work/color outweight this tiny suggestion. Just something to think about.

This is really cute and interesting! The story is seamless; it has great transitioning. Watercolors are a bit harder for me so I really like the coloring and lighting you used.

what I enjoyed the most about this work is how you don't need words to tell a story. Every pannel here is really worth 1000 words.

I know that the black lines need to be defined but they are almost too much so, I like how you chose to mix some of the colors, but the other colors are merged and though I can say that the water is blue, it has shades that make it look alive(too a point) so if you could work with you thicknesses and shades of black(yes they do exist, but are hard), I think this could only get better!!! Also the warmy pink to orange light was nice, i did feel a warm tingly shiver, but the orange is almost to overpowering of the soft pink, and I think there could be another color not red, but another color that makes you think of warm/happy/content places (if that was what you were going for) in that spot> Hope I have helped, take it or leave it...

I like the character it's very cute, the colors are nice, and just the style of painting is great!
The only thing i'm personally confused about is what is happening, what is he doing where is he going, he left an island (?) to find a new home ? and ended up being sucked into the water.

I completely and utterly adore your little Leaf Creature. Hello Earnest, you are cute lol
I love how you changed the mood and colors around so smoothly, from greens to sunsets and finally to the dark ocean blues. It has a nice smooth transition. I especially enjoyed the originality; the leaf transforming into a boat made me giggle like a five year old. He looked so adorable in it, like a little kid on a tricycle.

this is so well thought out! The way you started with having the pictures paneled off and then how they blend together then separate again, the colors also follow the same pattern which gives the whole piece a wonderful flow! and the color palette is great! awesome job!

I LOVE THE COLORS I like the strokes you used to create the whirlpool, but I don't really like the ones in the waves (right after the sunset part, out of a frame), I think it looks a bit too simple... just my opinion!

I love how you did this whole thing, and all the coloring is simply wonderful ^^
Earnest seems to be quite the explorer, or is he just on his way to work? Haha

This is absolutely brilliant! The concept is fantastic, as is the use of watercolors. They give it an earthy feel I think compliments the comic wonerfully. I only wish there were a few more panals because I want to see what happens next lol well done!

Love the color schemes, very beautiful and cohesive. I'm really hoping this is all traditionally done--watercolor, and whatnot. Did you use ink for the borders? In the third image I only barely noticed it was Earnest carrying the leaf--might make him more noticeable. Other than that, this is amazing, congrats

How awesome. I love the way that without words, this comic speaks clear as day. My only criticism is the uncertainty of the last panel. I was kind of just like "um, what?" The rest of the comic is very clear, it's just the last panel that makes no sense to me.

I really enjoyed the last three panels. The colors and emotions in them, and how they are painted really spoke to me. Great job! C:
Though I must ask what is the swirly greenish-yellow blob in panels 14-17?

yeah, the photoshop blur effect really took me out of the comic's atmosphere, if that makes sense. everything was in traditional media and such and then that blur was just really off.
I really love the last panels -- the colors were done well there. I'm a bit confused why he wanted to open his suitcase in the whirlpool thing, but the aftermath is really cool, because that's a lot of stuff for such a small case.
keep up the good work.
