I have to disagree. The blue space ads so much to the overall shot; I think losing even a small amount of it would impact on the shot's sense of scale. This is brilliant!

The way you captured it -- close up with the interesting cloudshapes in the background -- really accentuates the extreme lean of the tree. If your intent with this shot was to focus on shapes, angles, and textures, you were extremely successful. I like the different textures very much -- smooth sky, fluffy clouds, jagged rocks, wispy grass, and all the spikey branches of the tree. The dark tree silhouette and the bit of shadow on the front right give it a touch of chiaroscuro that makes the colors more dynamic. I like how the ground angles down to the left paralleling the tree, but the cloud layer is bigger on the left, providing balance. Lots to enjoy in this image!!!

i think the colours are absolutely spectacular and I love the composition, but as the other person said, would have been really cool if the cloud on the left hand side extended right to the ground.

All the elements are supurb but I think it would have been 1000% better if you had got lower and eliminated the sky between the cloud and the ground.. That would have been fully sick but as it it theres lots to like. Great blue and cloud definition and the foreground is rich and tasty!

wow...beautiful colours & contrasts...my only critique is the composition of the pic...i would have liked to see the pic taken from a bit further away, with the tree positioned more to the right hand side...i think that this would have promoted a feeling of "lonelyness and solitude"...but apart from that...awsome work...
