Description This place is called the Temple of the Gods. Since one hundred years the priests believe that the volcano in front of this temple is way for the gods to show their emotions. This is the second time in these years that the volcano is active. The first time it predicted the death of the emperor Caelinus II, who was well liked by his citizens but didn't believe in gods. After his death the majority of the population returned to their religion but 30 years later we are at the same point as before. Right now the church of the ancient gods is fighting against the new movement. People are dying and as the volcano is active again all of us have to fear for our lives.

Wow, that is fascinating!

I love volcanoes,
I love ancient stories (e.g. the Romans and Greeks)
I love how you have pictured it so well as if you speak from a real Greek/Roman's perspective of that time!

And this soundtrack came to mind as I saw your art:

This is a very neat perspective. It shows how massive and grand the temple is while leaving the volcano small and distant. It gives me the perspective of one of the priests, sitting, wandering, pondering about the mountain for most of their lives, and then now generally freaking out about the current state of events.

Nicely done!

Also, thanks for the llama!

Absolutely amazing work on the perspective in this one, I actually thought this was a 3d render at first glance.

Sadly, the people are actually dying from the hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas that the volcano is emitting. Anyway, as much as the volcano towers over all and commands the power of life and death to all who are near, the perspective and emphasis on the columns give a great feeling of grandeur and power to the temple itself. It must have made them feel almost invulnerable despite the ferocious power that nature had set high above them. It's a great contrast and a great lesson at the same time.

I really love the angle, it's like something out of a movie. It makes me think what it would be like for someone living in Pompeii seeing Mt Vesuvius start to erupt right before it wiped everything off the map
