Fantastic lighting, blur, and curves.
What were your render settings/times for this piece?

Thanks very much.
If I remember correctly, 6000 on the Quality level, about an 11 hour render at 3500 X 5250 pixels. Oversample was 1, Filter Radius was .2. Then resized in Photoshop to current size.

That is a very precise and sharp render. One question: Do you find higher initial size, then downsizing in PS a better choice than OSample? Or are they basically the same thing?

Gosh, I honestly don't know but I need the larger size for prints. Way back I did a lot of testing of render settings and have been pretty happy with my current settings.

I can vouch for this. I tried your render settings, 6,000q 1os, but I used .72fr and tripled my image size, then shrunk it down in PS (using a 300dpi setting...don't know if that made any difference at all as I have no basis for comparison) to my regular size 1280x768, and I believe that it made a difference, however slight, from the normal HQI renderer and 3os.

Tha's pretty cool--it kinda looks like that purple cone-like shape's sucking all the light outta the picture, like a black hole.
