Awesome!!

I crewed a test howitzer we had in Alaska. A M110. Short barrel no muzzle brake. We tested the rocket powered 203mm rounds to see how they functioned at 40 below.
They worked fine. The problem came up when the rear spade brackets broke from absorbing the higher recoil of those new rounds.
The M110a1 had the new muzzle brake reducing recoil but our gun was not updated.
And yes the damn hydraulic loader froze up so we had to manually load those 200 pound shells.
I got to pull the cord setting off the gun.
It was a rush!!
We did good for a bunch of amateurs.......none of us were trained artillery!
But we did have a operation manual!

Did you read the manual? - very last resort : )
Sounds like you had quite a bit of fun in Alaska.
I hope the military has enlisted some professionals since then ...  otherwise we're in trouble.

Mine part was simple.
Insert primer......pull lanyard.
Do not stand directly behind breech.
Gun will recoil.

Those guys lifting and loading had the hard job.
