Hum good question. I think he can look scary when he's mad, intense, etc. but he share's one thing with batman a very very scary laugh. Heaven help the Joker the day we hear the 2 of them laugh together.

From the stuff I've read(This is why I'm a DC fan) in the DC universe it's realistic to the point where the good guys don't always win, and super heros aren't always super. But for every joker there's a batman, and for every Darkseid there's a supermen.
