Yee! My first collab! *dances*

When I saw Tazi-san put up these adorable sketches of Sonic, I couldn't resist coloring them. So I got her permission, and wala! Petty, cute and fuzzy! X3 Man, I had so much fun coloring this. Tried out a new sketchy shading style thanks to a certain brush I have, and it looks wonderful! Since Tazi-san's style is a lot more comic-like than mine, I used a high contrast between the shadows and the highlights.

Then, after I was done coloring and shading, I got the bright idea to... DO A BACKGROUND! Dun dun DUN! =O

The background was mainly inspired by the running Sonic, for I just keep imagining him in this dark creepy forest. So I drew a few trees (the biggest is my favorite <3), put in some of my grass, but with different colors. Different grasses grow in different places, so I gave this version some brown. And then the background was a spot gradient, with a gray-green and a dark green, which I burned with the same brush I used on the sketches. After that, I blurred a patch of grass behind Sonic to indicate how fast he's going. And then I put in the patch of blue sky, since I didn't want the bright and happy sketches to be all alone in the foreground. |D
