OH Disney and your hatred for mums!So, I just started doodling little Olivia with her ma (the coloured on in the left corner) and then it all eclipsed into this;
A small character-design of Mrs. Flaversham.
I really have no more about her; no name, no means of death, but I like to think that she and Hiram were Scottish young-romance-friends that later on turned into lovers and then lastly marriage... and then BLERGH! Mother, dead.
But here she is.
Opinions and meanings please?
Any ideas and thoughts for names and means of death, etc.

I really enjoy how it looks like she started smaller as a younger mouse lady, then chubbed out a bit after the baby. Wonderful. <3

A mouser is a ratcatcher's terrier, which catches rats/mice and usually kills by worrying them. A mouser is also a cat that is used to kill mice.

So basically just a big animal that kills mice. Well, I did have death-by-cat as a very likely scenario

You should really see this kind of art done more often. I kinda wish I'd expanded on Olivia's mom in the fan fic I did now. x.x Well, my guess on her death is that the cats got her.

I actually do like that idea too, and it is one of my 'ideas' - I have everything from sick on death-bed, run over by a hansom cab or by cats...

Cats are like the go-to explanation with talking mouse movies after all. XP Basil probably has to rule out a cat attack first when investigating a murder or disappearance.

I really love her character design :3 It does suck Disney didnt attempt much effort to put her in the movie only for Olivia to she didnt have a mother

Thank you so much; I actually don't really mind Disney not developing the mothers, as it gives us free range to play around with them and create what we like to think would be fitting characters.
And I am very glad my attempt on drawing Olivias mum went so well.
Well, in that case I do hope to work her out a bit more; not terribly much I imagine, but I will give her more background

I do like those names though; Very classical and not over-the-top. They might be a bit overused though, but that doesn't make them into bad names, obviously.

These are all wonderful sketches of what might have been within the Flaversham household. I definitely felt the mother was a loving parent to Olivia as well as a supportive wife to her toymaker husband. As for names, I came up with one that seemed to fit. For a short story I wrote a few years ago, I named her Virginia. The idea came from Alan Young's real life wife, Virginia McCurdy. I never thought up a cause of death, but it could be one of these well-known diseases in the Victorian era:
Cholera- An infectious and often fatal bacterial disease of the small intestine, typically contracted from infected water supplies and causing severe vomiting and diarrhea.
Typhoid- An infectious bacterial fever with an eruption of red spots on the chest and abdomen and severe intestinal irritation.
Scarlet fever- An infectious bacterial disease caused by infection with the group A Streptococcus bacteria (the same bacteria that causes strep throat).
If those are too gruesome for the poor lady, her death could have been perhaps a stroke or heart attack.

I do like the different diseases. Horrid as they are.
It'll probably be either one for the diseases or maybe something as simple as a cat. That way they wouldn't have to see Mrs. F just rot away in her bed :S
I like your reasoning for the name, and Ginny (Virginia) is a very sweet name; I'll def. keep that in mind.

Yikes, but yes, a simple swallow from a feline would be a quick death neither of them would have to watch. Speaking of Alan Young, he's still going strong at 93 years of age. He recently reprised his role as Scrooge McDuck for the remastered Capcom game, "DuckTales." I was literally grinning as I watched a level being played on YouTube and hearing him talk. He sounded fabulous!

Thanks; I tried to make her stand out, designwise, while still making her look like Olivia, seeing as the girl (luckily) didn't get many of her fathers traits.
