A birthday gift for myself (although my birthday is in october…). I coloured this at Jenny Dolfen’s (gold-seven.deviantart.com/ ) very recommendable watercolour workshop this year. Unfortunately, I seem to have somehow managed to print the lineart on the WRONG side of the paper, and I have absolutely no idea how I did this! Thus, it was a pain in the neck to paint this. The “wrong” side of the paper is far less smooth, and thus your brushstrokes also become less smooth. Thus, I effectively spoilt a pretty fine lineart which could have made a spectacular piece for my portfolio. Well. I tried. I still think several things worked out very well and I like the overall result!

This used to be my D&D group, and I miss these people so terribly that I wanted to pay them a tribute. I already tried last year, but I always failed. You can see my designs of the characters here (toradhart.tumblr.com/post/1361… )!

Drawing ink and some (amazing) stolen liquid watercolour on Fabriano hot pressed satinated paper (unfortunately, the wrong side of it, as I told you).

Music suggestion: Into the Sunset Again by Fiddler’s Green, If I Die in Battle by Van Canto and Into the Flood by Anaria. Also, assorted anime openings. Don’t judge me!
