Another one of my OC's~ I wanted to try something different in terms of coloring and I'd love to know what you all think!Related content

For the most part, the pic looks lovely. Much of the loveliness comes from the character and her design (chiefly that of her eyes and hair)
In general, the hair turned out pretty nice. The form of it definitely shows flow based on how you drew and shaded the hair strands (and how the hair strands themselves flow over the form of her head). The highlights coming from a seemingly multi-colored primary light source(s) are a nice touch. Would be nice if the core parts of the highlights are made a bit brighter, thus making the hair a bit shinier. Would also be nice if parts of the hair are cast a blue or blue violet highlight coming from the blue or blue violet colored background. In addition, feel free to throw in some white or beige colored highlights on parts of the hair closest to the skin. Some additional hair strand-like highlights would help in better defining the hair strands going in different directions.
I believe much more shading on the skin (especially parts of in in shadow around the neck area) will help bring out the 3d form of head, neck, and especially shoulders more, thus allowing the character to pop out much more.Β
The eyes already look pretty, but feel free to add in a bit more detail so the eyes would look a bit more sparkly.

First of all, I really like her expression and the colors of her eyes. You did a good job on her hair, the colors make it look soft and they seem to fall naturally over her shoulder, but her head/hairshape looks a bit too round to me.
The anatomie looks good, I like that she has a rather sharp chin, it somehow gives her more character. Allthough her chest/shoulders look kind of empty, you could add details to it, her colarbones and/or a bit more shadow.
You know where to place the shadows but they could be darker.
Your picture has a clear blue theme and looks somehow calming, I think I could add some spice to it if the background had a slightly greenish tone to, alltough I like the structur.

Thank you! I wanted to try and incorporate some other colors to compliment the base colors. For example, I added some greens, yellows, and blues to the hair instead of the usual, black, grey, white, etc. I'm just trying to find a hair coloring style I really like. That, and I'm still trying to get the eyes to be just like I want em, which is kinda tilting sometimes, cause I always feel like there'sΒ something missing.
I'm still a newbie when it comes to digital art, so like, I really wanna try different techniques to like, try to find my own style, ya know? It's just super frustrating sometimes! Anyways, thanks for checking my piece out!Β Β

Oh! I see now. Tbh they are quite subtle that look a bit semi realistic haha.
One point might be relevant is that, by having a very detailed/semi realistic part, one needs to pay attention to the overall style consistency in the entire piece as well. Otherwise, there will be some very strong unintentional contrast.
For my own skill development, I'm not to fussed about having a personal style so to speak. I mostly do my learning through copying the masters/other online artists. They say once you have copied enough, you will mix all of them together and become your unique style. And copying masters gives you a baseline to compare to, letting you know what is off what is good. That could be less frustrating. XD Food for thoughts
Anyway, hope it kinda helps. And I think you are making fairly good progress. Keep it up!

I'll keep that in mind actually! You do have a point. I'll be sure to keep my eye out and try to learn from others! I've been so focused on my own stuff that I have realized that I haven't been looking at other people's works.Β
