Description Got this one because of the wings. What other Gundam has organic wings (I tend to go for Gundams that are unique)? Got sick of the regular colour scheme, and I was inspired at a class BBQ when one of the chicken wings caught fire (I get inspired by the weirdest things sometimes). So I repainted it to look like it was burning, and many people seemed to like it. But it suffers from loose wing joints that cause troubles during posing, so any ideas how to rectify that?

I think bandai copied your idea and color scheme and made it into WING ZERO HONOO, and based on the date it was made, I'd say, this is his big brother. WING ZERO CUSTOM HONOO. hehe, nice job.

I like the scheme but it seems like you pulled the colors straight from Gundam Heavyarms.

it'll look sorta like the strike freedom, if you use gold foil.

you know, the joints are very loose on my zero's wings and also my exia's legs, and all i did was add a little bit of tin-foil, and now they're both pwnage.

as for wing joints, are you talking about the actual ball's surface or the peg and hole joint? either way, rough it up and thicken the circumference/surface with super glue. let it semi harden by placing some water [or some spit on it, it's actually quicker] and then move it around where it connects to. it should help stiffen it up.

Amazing. I would say this should called Phoenix Gundam but that already exists. But it is still amazing. I wish I can custom paint my gundam like that.

I like your color scheme! I did a recolor on my 1/60 too; I think there's a lot of room for improvement from the "Americamech" color scheme with that horrific yellow and dull blue. I think you nailed it, especially on the wing moulding. It looks really good with the gray joints.

Nice work!

I had that problem, to an extent, with Deathscythe H, and it turns out the clips that they hang off of were a couple of millimeters larger than the bars they were supposed to let clip onto them... ended up taping the front and back wings together so they'd stay up. XD

I love your rendition of Wing Zero Custom... /no1

Eh... poor guy's sitting in his box now, waiting alongside Burning, Epyon, Altron, Zero (1/100), and Shenlong (1/100) for me to finish packing. Oh well; he's probably safer in there anyway... less dust, and less chance of falling a good 5 1/2 feet from his former perch and becoming even more damaged. /sob

I still really like that color scheme for Zero Custom. That's the good thing about it; since it's mostly white, it's customizable, unlike Deathscythe Hell and Epyon. :3

Thats true. Unfortunately for me, my Deathscythe, Deathscythe Hell, Heavyarms, Heavyarms Custom, and Wing Zero Custom all were destroyed by my little sister's various assortment of pets... I think the most I have left is one of Heavyarms' hands... *sob* I left for college and my stuff dies!!! Lol.

NUUUUUU! That sucks... >_<

Fortunately, the only pet we have is a cat (though my little sister recently got a fish... o_0), and she's quite tame (though she just LOVES knocking over glasses with liquid in them...) so normally I don't have to deal with such problems. I do know what you mean by things getting destroyed while you're gone; I'm recently back from college, only to find out that my Kingdom Hearts disk is badly scratched up and most of my Lego models are in ruins. Sometimes it doesn't pay to trust others with things that can be broken.

Nope. Especially when the little one was given your room since you were gone. Oh the joyness of going home to a couch!!! But I started staying with my dad over my breaks now, so I can work at the same time. And my sisters there respect my property... at least so far as they wouldnt mess it up...

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-21 23:41:47 +0000 UTC]

Oh man... I totally know what you mean. I'm sleeping on the couch in the den 'cause my little brother got my room. It was natural since my little sister started going through her changes; she needs more privacy than us boys (as you well know). Unfortunately, I can't exactly stay with my dad (since he's a good 600 mi. away and that we only recently started to try & patch things up... ^_^; ), so I just gotta bear with it for now.

Lol, yeah my dad and I finally came to an understanding. He doesnt try to run my life and bitch at me about 'owing' him shit that he doesnt deserve...*cough* and I dont put him in his place when hes being like that. Lol. I wouldnt be able to take it if it werent for my stepmom, Stacey. Shes total awesomness! ^_^

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-22 02:07:33 +0000 UTC]

Hm. My dad's a long story, but he's nowhere near as strict now as when he was serving in the military, and when he found G-d again it was like he was reborn... or so I'm told (through my older sister and oldest younger brother (I have 2 younger brothers), who were both hurt more by his leaving than I). To be honest, though, through the few conversations we've had so far I've actually started to get that impression.

KaliDesarai In reply to ShinigamiMiroku [2008-02-22 03:11:10 +0000 UTC]

My dad is just an asshole. Hes got the mind set of a petulant 5 year old that pouts and yells when he doesnt get his way. But as I said, Stacey has helped that a little, hes gotten better. I have 6 younger sisters and 2 younger brothers. 2 sisters and both brothers I never get to see, and then my 4 other sisters I see all the time. Those are the four that live with my dad. Lol. The other two live around my mom. Not with, but around. Lol.

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-22 05:01:52 +0000 UTC]

"Around"? ::doesn't quite get it::

Anyway, ouch... mindset of a 5-year-old... that's got to be tough to deal with, even if it has lessened somewhat. Tell you what, he probably wouldn't act like that if he had been in the military; that's something they root out *very* quickly, from what I hear tell.

To be honest, I'd toyed with the idea of joining the military myself, but I don't feel that to be my calling, y'know? I was going to be a computer animator, but (as evidenced by my doodles in my gallery) I'm not very good at even traditional artwork, so I'm trying out different things.For one thing, I've taken up writing fanfics... also, I need to learn more about cooking, so finding a place to learn culinary arts is a must.

KaliDesarai In reply to ShinigamiMiroku [2008-02-22 06:13:30 +0000 UTC]

Thats awesomness! I love to cook. My dad cooks really yummy foods... *drool* And he wouldn't have been able to join the military, hes been disabled since I was... 7? No, younger than that. He has only one leg... Once when he was buggin me I told him I was goin to take his leg and kick him in the shin and run for it. Kicking the shin because he can probably hop faster than I can run... Lol.

Writing is fun, I 'dabble' in it, as I say. My cousin and I cowrite a Gundam Wing fanfic.

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-22 18:56:23 +0000 UTC]

>_< My apologies... I hadn't realized he was disabled...

I sometimmes like to cook, but my biggest concern is meat prep, especially chicken. I don't eat pork or shellfish (or any other invertebres, for that matter) so I don't have to worry about that, but... chicken is so slimy. ::shivers:: I'm getting over it, but it's not easy.

Tis fine, we tease him all the time about it, hes really good humored about it too.

I loooove chicken, but dont boil it! Fry it or grill it and it isnt slimy at all. I love pork... fried porkchops were a regular meal around my house... I have a fried foods fetish.. being southern and all. Yum!

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-22 21:19:32 +0000 UTC]

Heh, yeah I know how that is. I spent most of my childhood in the South, so I can easily see where you're coming from. It's not about cooking the chicken; just cutting it up and stuff. It seems easier, actually, if it's still half-frozen, but the problem there is that fingers cannot be felt by the time the first one is cut up. XD

There's two reasons I don't eat pork: 1. I'm Jewish (Orthadox by food standards); 2. I don't want to smell like a pig after I eat one. >_>;;;

KaliDesarai In reply to ShinigamiMiroku [2008-02-24 21:10:57 +0000 UTC]

Lmao, aw, poor lil fingers. And thats coolness, more power to ya if ya stick with no pork. Tis all gravy. ^_^

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-25 04:55:18 +0000 UTC]

LOL. Y'know, you're probably the first person on dA that knows I'm Jewish and hasn't completely ignored me from that point forward... yes, I do get a bit of that, but it does come with being counted among the most hated group of people in the world (since 90% of Europe and almost as much of Asia and Africa is anti-Semetic, it's an easy statement to make). ^_^;;;

I really couldnt care less your religious views or your background. I think people should be allowed their views and not persecuted for them. I totally love having religious debates and race debates, but with people that arent defensive and are willing to listen to all sides of an argument... ^_^ It really angers me when people arent tolerant of others but expect others to be tolerant of them. >.<

But yeah, tis nifty actually. I like learning about other religions and ethnicities. Im not as... whats the word... Id say unique but it isnt what im lookin for... blah on my inarticulatness!!! Lol. Anyway, Im Spanish, German and Irish. Makes for some odd craziness in the head region.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-25 16:33:55 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I used to like having religious debates, but because of the aforementioned 'defensiveness' and closed-mindedness of others I got tired of it. I'm proud of who I am, but I'm not going to go out of my way to get persecuted.

Wow... Spanish, German, and Irish? That'd be enough to make anyone's head spin. @_@ It's pretty cool, though, having such a diverse heritage. ^_^

Aside from my Jewish blood, I also have British and Russian blood in me, somewhere along the line (in fact, my Jewish blood comes from Russian Jews, if my father is to be believed).

KaliDesarai In reply to ShinigamiMiroku [2008-02-25 17:40:57 +0000 UTC]

Thats nifty. I usually stick with debating with my 'artners', aka my cousin Jordan and my best friend Shane. Lol. My All three come from my dads side, and then my German and Irish come from my mom too, and I think there may be a little Cherokee in there from her too... not quite sure though!!

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-26 01:22:10 +0000 UTC]

So, what's your favorite Gundam?

KaliDesarai In reply to ShinigamiMiroku [2008-02-26 03:20:34 +0000 UTC]

Tie between Wing Zero Custom and Deathscythe Hell Custom... *sigh* Both are totally badass! Id really like Heavyarms Custom model if it actually had the mask like it does in the movie.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-26 23:29:14 +0000 UTC]

Ah, okay... that's cool. I actually like the GW Wing Zero and Deathscythe H over the EW-retcon suits. There's a lot of things that Zero did that Custom probably could not have done. Not only that, but Deathscythe H survived the battle against the Mercurius and Vayeate MDs because he had two pairs of wings, and the second set covered his engine pack, which the Active Cloak does not do. Thus, DSH Custom would've been destroyed by the Vayeate MD.

Overall, though, my favorite is probably the Burning/God Gundam. MS Saga has a lot to do with that, though... it's the ultimate melee MS.

Sweetness. And you'll have to forgive me, Im braindead today, due to mixture of insomnia, arguement with my roomate, and its midterms week... *sigh*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-27 01:21:06 +0000 UTC]

Ouch, ouch, and ouch... >_<

I went to a weekend convention once and had a roommate (to split the hotel bill), but ended up at each other's necks by the end of it. Not in any bad way; we're still good friends, but arguments are going to happen with people that live together for any amount of time. It was mainly because he suffers from insomnia too, so I hardly got any sleep too. I may be a night-owl, but I still need my sleep. XD

Mid-terms... I know how that is. I usually don't have to worry, since I'm good at test-taking, but when it comes to art I always run into problems. >_>;

Totally agree, on all counts. *sigh* She and I have not argued in 2 years, this is our first one. She was being stupid, I got snappy, she snapped back, and there ya have it. I apologized, but Im still peeved because she refused to accept my apology. Im just like, whatever you lil wench. GRAR!!!

But anyway, I waited to long to work on my painting and now I dont have enough light to do it by, so I have to do it tomorrow before my class. Ungh...

Oy... better get crackin', then. Good luck... sounds like you might need it. Better brew yourself some java, too. ^_^ ::listens to Godot's theme from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations::

Lol, thanks for the advice, and the luck. I have to wait to finish my painting in the morning before I go to Bio Lab, so Ill have light to work by, and Im still procrastinating on the drawing. *sigh* Im good what can I say!?

ShinigamiMiroku In reply to KaliDesarai [2008-02-27 14:36:24 +0000 UTC]

LOL. Hope you can draw fast, then... too bad it's not closer to May, though; with the sun coming up earlier, you'd have a bit more time to work with.

I know all about procrastinating, though; ATM I'm putting off looking for a job... mostly because I'm tired of all the "Don't call us; we'll call you." bit. It's really annoying.

That and... to be honest, there's something that's really troubling me.
