Description
Auron from Final Fantasy 10. the first (left) is kinda awkardly posed, but i like the way i drew the upper arm and chest. the legs are kinda blah though, especially his foot which looks broken. i also stuffed up his hands, especially the left one as i didn't know where to put it. it was on the edge of the page, so i couldn't fit the sword like i did on the right one. on that one, i decided to draw him a bit more modern casual. i had no idea how to draw his lower face though, and it just looks weird. maybe i should have gave him a casual scarf as well. but meh. even casual, he has his honking grat sword, and if you look closely he's still wearing his elaborate belt under the shirt.i didn't really know what to do with his arms. his right arm sticks out all random because it allows me to practice drawing arms. i'm doing heaps like it.
-i've been doing alot of full body drawing lately, which is something i've only ever been half successful at due to an overindulgance of drawing portraits and disembodied heads.
-to do this, i got a male and femal skeleton, faded it, printed it and then practiced drawing various characters over them.
it has worked half well and has emphasised a few techniques i should be using.
-then i moved beyond the disreputable semi-tracing technique and did my own frame. after a few tries, i think i've found one half good, and Auron is drawn upon it. I should probably upload it too actually. it's based upon some measuring tricks i found here on DA... i'll have to refind the link and credit the clever person who put it up...
but yes. avert your eyes from his hands please.
if you have any suggestions for what to draw (i'm mainly drawing final fantasy characters atm, and the details takes agggessss) or any helpful criticism, shoot me with it.
(i'll probably move this to scraps later)

yeah i found a good reference on the sword on a final fantasy wiki site. i was nearly temped to use his ultimate weapon, but instead went with his default one.
actually, you might find the site useful: [link]
it's pretty extensive with final fantasy info and usefully, reference pictures. I think it's where i found out the river pheonix thing as well.
