Quicky Design of PSP2.0I found out at the end of the day the Kotaku was running unofficial design challenge of next PSP.
Spent couple of hours on it... so it's pretty rough...
Also, I wish i had a 3D program. it would have looked better rendered...
*IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
-I HAD NO IDEA THIS IMAGE WOULD DRAW OVER 15,000 PEOPLE IN ONE DAY... FOR THAT MATTER IT REALLY MADE THE CONTEST SUPER UNFAIR. I USUALLY GET COUPLE HUNDRED VIEWS PER DAY. SO I THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T UPSET THE VOTE THAT MUCH... BUT THIS LITTLE REQUEST OF MINE MUDDLED THE GOOD SPORT OF FAIR GAME OF CONTEST. I AM ASKING TO HAVE MY ENTRY TAKEN OFF SINCE I INADVERTENTLY BECAME A CHEATER. But you can enjoy the design here...
I DO SUPER APPRECIATE ALL YOUR COMMENT THOUGH. I will try to compile the thoughts behind this design soon. It will address a lot of comments you are making.

I think if there were like "small" finger formations (i.e. finger imprints/grips) right where you have the PSP logo, it would fit in the hand more naturally and feel less clunky. The rest to me loos like a great concept. Well done!

THIS IS AWESOME. Now only if they included these features in the PSVita. We'd all like a cellphone, memory card slot, and USB slot in a PSP.

I really like this design.
What are Sony thinking with their N.G.P. platform, I don't like using touch screens,
but the projects probably going ahead as expected, whether consumers will buy it or not.
Though the Xperia Play looks really underdeveloped.
Why can't Sony go in between freakishly OTT new-age design in the N.G.P.

I hope this dosn't die like the psp did. I feel deep down in my gut this thing'll be a monster. IN MY GUT. But I'll be honest there's no way it's reveal was nowhere near as classy as the 3ds's what with the boothbabes and the huge list of games and the 3d and whatnot. Still exited for psp2 (New name ngp)

I love your design. Also I think the PSP Go is great mostly because I am only a casual gamer, but still. Kudos to you.
If it is a phone, I hope it is not limited to carriers. That would suck since I have T-Mobile and AT&T is getting expensive with its outrageous charges.

If you're hopping the new PSP 2 which is coming out in 2012 will come with a UMD drive or a gamecard then you'll probbaly be in for a big disappointment because Sony said that the PSP 2 will still suppourt download-only games like the PSP-go. If what Sony said is really true then I foresee the PSP 2's downfall on the horzion.

i think the hatred of download only games is force fed by the media.
(anything beyond this point in the comment it not directed towards you but the general public)
(people are fine with it on the iphone or the ipad) but for some reason they don't like it on the psp. also from what ive seen all the arguments against it tend to be bogus. "what if you delete your game by mistake" then you download it again free of charge as many times as you want. since it all works with your psn account.
