Description Quick drawing, Quck color slapping done for "GamerZorZ"

Unlike my other Samus pics, this is not an actual depiction of how things would work... More of an abstract piece... If that makes sense...

Yes, I know when she becomes a "ball", it's more of an energy force... But, I never liked that premise... Sort of like "alien technology" cop out... Oh wait... Samus' suit is an alien made suit...

Oh well... you know what I mean.

She looks so peaceful though...

sniff....

the chozo was the alien birdlike race that adopted samus.

So her power suit doubles as a sleeping bag. Neat.

And I gotta admit, I like this better than the official explanation. Matter-energy conversion is very iffy, even by sci-fi terms. The amount of information (like, bits and bytes) needed to bring Samus back -- in one piece -- is almost more than the amount that could be physically contained by an object the size of her power suit. And in the rough environments she works in, errors could easily creep into the memory. The longer she's balled up, the greater the probability that she'll come back without, say, a pancreas, or with ten boobs, each in a place no boob should go.

Don't get me wrong: the Chozo have pretty bad-ass technology, but even they canna break the laws of physics, cap'n.

Awesome pic. If I recall, the Morph Ball is exactly 1 metre in diameter (Several scans throughout the series cite Morph Ball holes as being "roughly a metre in height" and things like that)

Nevertheless, it's possible that she fits in that way and possibly controls it mentally/telepathically in some way. Also, there has to be a moving layer and a gyroscopic layer, or else she'd get very dizzy and possibly pass out.

Though, this still is just based on the assumption that she can crouch into a ball, though this is a very nice interpretation and is entirely feasible. Nintendo should hire you for their concept artwork, you've got some nice ideas.

Ooh! Maybe there's a little control panel in there which she can use for motion, jumping, bombs, super-bombs, and whatever other powerups she's gotten.

My congratulations on this astounding piece of artwork. Being a fan of the metroid series, I find that this way of representing samus in morphball form is easier to understand than all her molecules disassembling and her using some kind of sonar tech... Again, nice work. Mind if I fave?

I have no intention to rewrite the logistics of how morphball works. I just thought it would be cool to show something more literal.

The ball extracts all of her chemical bonds and reduces them to the size of the ball. If anyone thinks this is exactly what she's doing in their, then your wrong. If this were true, she would be rumblind around in their, causing bruises and damage to herself as she rolls around the surface of an alien planet. Also, this is great work.

Becoming some sort of energy form is as abstract as imagining someone would be all rolled up like that in a ball and being bounced around. LOL

Also, If you see the Prime series, the ball is not small at all.

I always wondered about the morph ball because it seemed like it was too small for samus to fit in. But I always imagined she would be in some sort of fetal position.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShadowMastah In reply to ActionHankBeard [2007-07-24 02:29:57 +0000 UTC]

In the "Prime" games, the morphball's size increased dramatically, more than large enough for Samus to curl up in.
But the her newer suits take away that logic with being abstractly shaped, such as the Light Suit.
But the deviation comment says that this was suppose to be an abstract, not how things work. :/

If you look in the art gallery in Metroid Prime (For any who cared to unlock and look at them = p) there's a sketch of Samus rolled up into the morph ball, just like this.

^_~ Very nice piece btw.
