those are the dr dre headphones. i seen them in a store for like 170$ are they really better than for example sony v6? i mean frequency response and size of driver in them? i mean they look nice and stuff but actual performance is it compareable to studio monitors?

i love my sony mdr-v600 [link] which i got for $150$ approx 21 years ago when i was in high school LOL. they have nice frequency response 5hz-30000hz and they are comfortable on my ears even if i wear them all day cuz your ears go inside them. they are starting to crackle slightly now when i really play something really loud but that is most likely due to age. I would not hesitate getting another pair when these totally go.

fair neough, my in ear buds of choice, are series 5 SHURE's, love them so much, incredible sound quality, and noise cancellation .. BUT very very expensive for in ear buds

are you djing as a job that you need special headphones? or is it more of a style or trendy kind of choice? when i got my sony ones i got them cuz i seen them in a lot of music videos that the singers used in the studio and that told me enough that they must be good. back in the late 80s and early 90s there wasn't a lot of hype over advertising sponsorships like they have now where product placement is becoming part of every movie and music video. back then they used what was good so i got them based on that. and i was very happy with them since.

hmm Not always ( eg: Apple products cost more, but are shit compared to pc ), but I do know that if you can't afford the best, you would have no idea
Myself i grew up very poor, but over time in my life I have done very well for myself, and now have basically the best of anything .. and trust me in most cases I have experienced, better brands do = better product

hehe im kinda the opposite. when i was younger i had both parents in my life and they provided me with almost anything. but now its different and i am not working so i have to be carefull what i spend money on.
