Its from an actual place. Tewenkle Park in Costa Mesa CA. Not sure I got the name right. I think it has another I or E in it somewhere. maybe both. lol
This painting was the first oil painting I painted on location. Actually, I think it was the first painting in any medium I did on location.
Usually I will do sketches and color comps and go paint in studio. Now I take digital pics and use them as refrence. Lighting can change super quick on location so it can be a bit tricky and its kind of a pain because you have to lug around your supplies but its something I think everyone should try at least once or twice.

lol cool, I've never tried painting on location before but I've tried drawing (sitting in some woods drawing a path and the trees/plants around it, then it started to rain lol) I'll have to try it sometime
