Description
This is Amy Poleher (idk how to spell her name and idc)"I hate her," said dad, pointing to my myspace homepage where this very picture sat all pretty
I nodded, "Me too. She wouldn't know funny if it bit her in the face."
"Now, THAT would be funny!" dad said, laughing.
So, I made this because every time I refreshed myspace her ugly mug was there and i had to be rid of it.
It's still there.
I had to get this off my chest. So here
comments not needed- I just find it amusing.

The same reason I don't like the Office.

I knooowwww, and sometimes when they do a joke and my brother laughs at it I'm like why is that funny? :/ btw That's what she said was already owned by somebody else so Steve Carell practically stole it.

Amy pretty much slaughters SNL, so I hated her because of that. Then, once Tina left too it's gotten pretty good again. Not like the early SNL funny, but not as bad as they were with her.
Is Parks&Rec, or the Office even on still? I only have 2 channels, so I am usually stuck watching NBC and I haven't seen them lately.

If anything I don't like any show that makes a mistake. Especially with sex subjects. SNL always ruin that and they go waaaay too far. Sometimes I don't wana watch it anymore. Office is lame. I think the most unprofessional thing is to steal someone else's idea. I hate how the Office stole that's what she said/. I watched Glee and they steal jokes like in almost every episode. Did you know that?

Yeah yeah they're sex jokes are so disgusting. It's like no one can do puns, or be witty they have to fall back on trash because apparently most people find that hilarious.
Office is supposed to be based near where I live, and it is another reason I hate it. They're not funny. Especially that Dwight guy. I hate him.
Frankly, I have never watched Glee. I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon before watching even one episode of that dribble.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Our culture today is not what it was like back then in the golden ages. I'm talking about the 90's. Man, I miss the 90's. I don't know why people don't like smart humor anymore. I guess they're just dumb. :S Yeah, the office is lame, and their character personality (i.e. Jim ) is like "I'm cooler than everyone else." Which makes them even more lame. lol
Don't watch it. Glee is so unprofessional. They steal jokes in almost every episode! And they jokes they do come up with, aren't even that funny! God, what has this country come to? Is everyone just lazy or something? What's sadder is that no one is doing anything about it, y'know? :/

Personally the golden age is the 1930s- 50s. I'm talkin' Marx Brothers, Three Stooges (while, admittedly dumb, were not supposed to be 'smart' like they are in today's comedies.) Phylis Diller (first female stand-up comedian.) Those old time acts. They cut on everyone, and themselves. They were amazing. Pure and simple.
Don't get me wrong! I love some of our "modern comedians" like Adam Sandler, and Robin Williams, and Chris Rock, but the aforementioned of the olden days have more class. Which, is just so nice compared to shows like the Office. None of this new-wave comedy is very good. SNL spawned Eddy Murphy, Chris Farley, and other BIG names. Now who do we have? Amy Poehler. Look, NO ONE is going to recall her in ten years. But we will all STILL be watching Dr. Dolittle.
The way I see it: the media is a tool. We're TOLD these things are funny, and therefore they are. We are TOLD Glee is awesome, and therefore it is. We are TOLD that the shows like Sex in the City are about 'real women', and we believe it.
My favorite television show The Black Donnellys was canceled on NBC a few years ago and replaced with Lipstick Jungle which was SO OFFENSIVE I wanted to die.

To respond to your 3rd paragraph text, that is true that the media are manipulative since our tradition and culture make up who we are. Sometimes writers make jokes that repeat other jokes (not in an idea-steal kinda way) like that one joke "once you're black, you never go back," y'know, or jokes about the president, 'cause that's just tradition. So our minds want us to accept this tradition but you gotta tell the difference between accepting an art craft idea. Basically how an art piece is made in my opinion, all comes down to: your personality/character, your intelligence, and culture/tradition. (culture and tradition. It's changed over centuries: that is why stuff we read back in the 1800's isn't as funny in the modern days, of course) Don't you agree? The biased opinions come from your personality and culture and the facts come from intelligence. So, here's the bare bones of intelligence, character, and culture: it's very hard to tell the difference! That's people always disagree with each other about a show or writing piece.
I can write more but, I want to hear what you'll say after reading this.

I do agree that it is based off of the culture of the time, but I don't think that it is strictly based off of us because then, if it was, it would be funnier. Or, in many cases, in better taste.
I know many, many people who do not enjoy the tv stereotypes, and there are probably an equal number of people who dislike as who like it.
That said, I do an do not agree.
It's based off the culture, but it is still used to mold the culture to what it wants.

No, that's not at all what I mean, not at all. I mean like certain genres of writing is based of our personality. And the writer wanted that as the intended audience. That is where different tastes come from. And you can't say an opinion is wrong of course. In this case, the personality of today's audience is well, "I don't like smart humor. Just give me something easy enough for me to laugh it!" Sadly, that is the majority of the American audience. While us smarties, aren't getting enough. So sad. Our group is slowly diminishing.
And in a way, culture has a lot to do with personality anyways. They connect. So do people's intelligence and their personality. Culture of how the audience are dumb. It is the status quo to write dumb jokes. Personality of the audience that they are dumb and do dumb stuff and intelligence of the audience that they are dumb. See how that connects? lol VICIOUS CYCLE!
Anyways, it's who the writers are and what they want to write for their audience. Since there aren't enough smarty audience around, what is the point of writing smart comedies anyways? That's what I think don't you agree? It's the audience. That's what is all comes down to. The dumb SOCIETY! Sooner or later we will be part of the society's mold!
I wish everyone was smart back then...

OH! Now I get it XDDDD
I misunderstood, sorry about that.
Yah, I hear ya. It is a totally vicious cycle. I hope some day that the people who like more clever comedy will become more prominent. I'm sure it will happen. Things go in cycles, you know.
