Always told
What to feel
All I feel is cold

They say cheer up!
Smile wide!
But their chilling grins
Make me terrified

Shivering silently
Cold biting my skin,
Frost lining my hair
Breathing the wind in

I can’t understand
Can’t warm myself up
They see me, I know
Still no coins in my cup

Eyelashes coated with
Flakes of snow
Lips blue and hard
My breath comes slow

I crumple inwards
No energy to cry
No warmth to save me
With a cold smile I die
