Why do people do
horrible things?
To each other, to the world.
How can they?
Haven’t they ever felt it?
The feeling.
That rare moment
When everything comes to you
In one big rush
of energy
That takes you
Until you are
choking and
breathing it
floating and
drowning in it.
When you are
consumed by it.
When you want to
run, to feel your muscles heat
and hug someone
and squeeze them till
they squeeze you back.
And to cry.
To hit something,
to scream in terror, anger,
Joy.
Complete, overwhelming,
soul-shattering joy
Joy just to be.
to be alive
and present
and aware
Joy to be able to feel.
Joy so strong
You want to laugh
just because you can feel pain.
Because even pain is beautiful.
Beautiful because it is part
of being,
of living and of dying.
Doesn’t everyone have
that moment
when they realize that
they are so lucky and
happy and thankful
because they can live
and because they can
die?
That death is also beautiful
because it comes after life.
That it is peaceful.
That it should be.
And, for a moment you can see.
Then it passes
the feeling slowly ebbs away
and you feel tired.
Drained, exhausted,
Satisfied.
Content to lay back
and faintly remember.
Freshly aware
of your love for
everything.
Doesn’t everyone have
that moment?
