Description Confederate Hill...

Although my mother's family fought on the side of "The Cause" I have always felt a strong affinity with the motivations of the North and particularly their Commander-in-Chief Abraham Lincoln in the American Civil War. I never tire of learning more about this great conflict, and a reading of "The Gettysburg Address" never ceases to well up tears in me. And while I truly believe war is one of the greatest scourges ever inflicted upon humanity I deeply appreciate all those that have fought and died in defense of causes and freedoms I am fortunate to experience.

For Memorial Day - established to remember those that gave the "last full measure of devotion" in the Civil War - a remembrance...

My reenacting unit portrays a color guard at Loudon Park Cemetery for an event every memorial Day. Β Great picture of the place!
