When I was playing regularly in a bluegrass band one of my favorite songs to perform was the Bill Monroe song "Walls of Time" (here performed by Ricky Skaggs... [link] ). This cemetery very much evoked memories of the song for me...The wind is blowing 'cross the mountain
And down on the valley way below.
It sweeps the grave of my darling
When I die that's where I want to go.
Lord send the angels for my darling
And take her to that home on high
I'll wait my time out here on earth love
And come to you when I die.
I hear a voice out in the darkness
It moans and whispers through the pines
I know it must be her a-callin'
I hear her through the walls of time

This cemetery didn't have a whole lot of striking sculptures, but I think that made this particular angel stand out all the more. Thank you!

Thank you so much. I was fortunate that the sky was doing some amazing things that day. I used to be very disappointed when I'd arrange a day to shoot and it would be cloudy and overcast, but I've found that often makes for some very dramatic images. Thanks for the add to your favourites as well!

This was a day when I almost didn't go to the cemetery to shoot because the sky was so grim looking. But it ended up making for some very dramatic images.
