It is a bit of an unorthodox pairing, but there is a reason for it. Lily loves helping animals, the wounded and the disabled. Can you really get much more disable than a mute, disembodied head? And Silent hates physical elementals (earth water, air, fire), so it's more likely she'd befriend an abstract elemental.

After a agonizing day of parliamentary debating, Princess Lillian is happy to spend a couple hours talking to her good friend, Silent. She brushes her friend's hair as she goes on about the "pompous old farts" that simply refuse to come to a compromise. Lily makes a funny face, impersonating the parliament members. She starts rambling a bit, but Silent doesn't mind: it's nice to have a person who accepts a disembodied head, let alone a friend.
